Clutching her thighs with each hand, I vigorously licked her, alternating between sucking her swollen clit and delving inside her. Soon her hips were jerking, her chest heaving. I eagerly anticipated the moment she would come for me.

“Noxx.” My name was a moan as she climaxed. A sound that clawed its way inside me.

She twitched and writhed on the bench, shaking with orgasm. As I stood, my hands went to my pants. I swiftly worked the laces, freeing my hard cock. The dragon inside me rose up, encouraging me to take her like an animal. I pulled Feryn to her feet, bending her over the back of the bench as I thrust into her from behind.

She gripped the bench with trembling fingers as I roughly fucked her. There was no better feeling than this. Buried inside my princess. With her purple skirt shoved up around her waist, the material falling to either side of her, I had the perfect view of her exposed ass. Gripping it with both hands, I held her tight as I guided myself into her over and over.

The view alone was almost enough to make me lose myself entirely. I wasn’t ready to finish yet. I needed more of her. Feryn’s soft cries and moans were almost my undoing. It was obvious that she was doing her best to be quiet, afraid to be heard by anyone who may come out to the garden.

“Nobody will hear you,” I assured her. “Everyone is inside getting falling down drunk. There’s nobody here but you and me. Don’t be afraid to give in and embrace the wild warrior inside you.”

Feryn let out a breathy laugh. “I’m pretty sure the wild warrior inside me is you. I wish you would never stop touching me. It’s going to be so hard to leave you.”

Her words caught me off guard. Of course she planned to leave. To return to her homeland and her people. She had no idea that a dragon and its mate could not be parted.

Short travels were fine, of course, but what she spoke of was impossible now. Returning to her homeland and never seeing me again would weaken us both. Eventually, it may even kill us.

Instead of responding, I withdrew from her and pulled her down onto the grass with me. Settling her on top of me, I marveled at her enchanting beauty. Mountains of skirt fell all around us. I had to shove some of it out of my face so I could see her. She laughed at the ridiculousness of it all before bracing herself against my chest and riding my cock like a goddess.

I gripped her hips, guiding her as I thrust up into her. Feryn’s mouth dropped open in a silent cry. With a tug on her hair, I pulled her down so I could press my lips to hers.

Eventually, I had to tell her the truth. There was no keeping it from her indefinitely. She may very well try to kill me then, and she would be right to do so. Knowing that this may be our last time together before her feelings changed, I wanted to enjoy it. To enjoy her while she still loved me.

Feryn kissed me back with a wild enthusiasm. She bit at my bottom lip, making my beast crazier for her. I knew that she’d never be able to handle the full experience of my dragon, and I readily accepted that. Holding back at times like this proved challenging though.

She fisted a handful of my hair, making a satisfied noise as she ground herself against me. I could barely keep myself contained. Soon I felt her muscles clench tight around me, her cries growing louder. I stopped holding back and gave myself over to the pleasure. Together we came simultaneously. A sensation that left me dazed and happy.

Feryn collapsed on my chest, hugging me tight. My arms went around her as I breathed in her flowery scent. We were both perfectly content to remain there locked together.

“I’d say this was quite the reward after everything we’ve endured. It will be a miracle if I can walk by the time my people arrive.” Feryn rested her head on my chest, a happy sigh escaping her.

Guilt slithered through me. I hadn’t sent the letter she’d written to her family. Instead, I’d written a letter of my own. One that I had yet to send. The Elf King would be furious when he received it. After everything his family had done to me, I didn’t give a shit how he felt. I had a few demands of my own to make now.

Gliding a hand over her tresses, I said, “We’ll have to make the most of our time before then. Plenty of days spent in bed.”

She raised her head to look at me, a quizzical expression on her face. “Don’t you have all kinds of Kingly duties to perform?”

“Nothing as important as being with you, princess. Everything else can wait.”

Unfortunately, everything else most certainly could not wait. My sister for instance. Once Nika discovered that my curse had been broken, she would rally her people and make a move against my kingdom. She’d made attempts in the past. We’d each lost people on both sides because of her futile war. I’d offered to share power with her. To give her reign over part of our realm. She refused to negotiate. She wanted the throne for herself and would gladly kill me to obtain it.

The elves didn’t know it yet but they were going to help me defeat my sister, along with the Fae King himself. Atlas Rein must be brought down. A forced alliance between my realm and Feryn’s would be more than enough to secure us the victory.

“The night sky is so beautiful.” Rolling over so she lay next to me on the grass, Feryn stared up into the sky. “Look at the stars. The moon. As wonderful as the daytime is, there’ssomething magickal about night. Everything feels different beneath the night sky. Don’t you think?”

“Absolutely. The night has a power of its own. A way of making everything seem more magnetic. More meaningful.” Pressing a kiss to her temple, I followed her gaze, looking up into the sky.

Such moments had been lost on me before Feryn. I’d rarely taken the time to admire the captivating simplicities of the moon and stars. She’d given me a new appreciation for nature. Watching her commune with it, communicating with the trees, I had a much greater respect for nature now. She’d taught me much about the world around us. How sentient and powerful it was. She was truly a magnificent creature.

I’d have been delighted to stay there with her in the grass all night and forget the party entirely. We were in our own little world together. Until the moment was shattered.

Flynn’s voice reached me. He’d left the castle, shouting my name into the night. The panic in his voice had me on my feet in seconds.

“I’m here,” I called, quickly tying my trousers.

Flynn rushed toward us, waving an arm for me to hurry up and join him. “There’s been an attack. From inside the party. Traitors in our midst. They’ve been working for Nika.”
