“Soften for me,” Sin murmured against my neck, distracting me from the pain. “I want you closer.”
Kai’s jaw ticked as Sin clung to me like I’d collapse if he let me go. Even though I was turning into a puddle at having his scent and aura cushioning me, it was the tiny breaks in Kai’s expression which kept me alert. His gaze kept flicking between me and Sin. After the way he’d shouted and snarled at me before I bit him, I could guess what he was thinking.
Until he suddenly grabbed my shoulder.
I gasped as he gave a sharp tug, and I stumbled forward. His face grew hard as I slammed my hands on his shoulders to stop myself from falling.
But Sin’s fingers slipped to my waist, catching me before I toppled.
“Come on, Sin. You’ve got to do more than that if you’re going to make our slut perfume,” Kai purred as his lips drew closer to mine. His harsh tone sent desire sizzling through my body, and his nostrils flared as my scent deepened.
“Or we could just give up your fucking game and go to the party?” Caspian snapped from behind him.
The second I glanced at Caspian, his whole body tightened as his energy became even more murderous.
“You’re such a spoilsport,” Kai sighed as he rolled his eyes. “I thought Brandywantedto go out drenched in our lovely scents?” His smile was off, his gaze too fierce. Even when Kai’s voice was cheerful, his fingers dug into my shoulder. “We missed our chance to show you off last time we scent marked you thanks tosomeone’sfucking temper tantrum.” Kai shot a look at Caspian over his shoulder, even though he was just as bad as his alpha.
But that was my problem. Even when they snarled at me, I wanted more of them. The moment they touched me, I forgot the real reason I’d come here, because it felt so good to have their attention, whether it was cruel or kind.
Kai pulled me against his chest, my breasts squishing against him as his face brightened.
“It’s my turn,” he hummed. His smirk turned malicious as he leaned in. “Well, Brandy. Are you ready to be marked in a totally different way?” Kai said in the low tone that always made me shiver.
I whimpered, quickly biting my lip to hold back the sound, but it was too late.
“We’ll take that as a yes,” he chuckled, before he pressed against me, and I melted all over again.
Kai gripped my waist, sliding his fingers down to knock against his alpha’s.
“Sin, get your fucking hands off of her. She’s mine now.”
I couldn’t see the expression Sin made as he let go of me and backed away, but it only made Kai angrier. I hated that I didn’t have an alpha touching me when I was so horny, especially when the two right next to me were both pumping with energy.
I needed to get Caspian’s scent all over me if I was going to face Zania again. I had to find a way to make him snap.
“Why don’t you both just scent mark me and then we can go?” I asked.
Kai laughed. “No way, not a chance. We’ve still got twenty minutes until the official kick-off, and I want to make a big, grand fucking entrance by towing you in there with us so everyone can get a good eyeful at how we aren’t fucking mating with some fucking stuck-up bitch omega their parents shoved on us.”
“What am I then?” I asked.
His lips thinned as an unreadable look crossed over his face.
We stared at each other as the air sparked around us, stretching on as I waited for his reply.
“You’re a fucking excuse. Now, shut up,” Kai growled as he wrapped his arms around me, and I easily gave in to him. His blood-red suit made him feel even more electric when paired with the cruel glint of his amber eyes.
My heart clenched, hate building inside me. But it wasn’t for them.
It was because our bond was gone, and I could barely stand it. I could even bite him again and reconnect us. The bond would be gone before the Selection Ceremony, and then we could properly reject each other and I could pretend they hadn’t swept through my life like a hurricane and destroyed everything I’d built for myself.
“It won’t take much this time,” Kai whispered in my ear before pulling back to speak louder. “I’m not going to give you the chance to fuck it up for us again. Today is too important for you to make a mess.”
“Kai.” Sin’s voice was filled with a warning, but Kai just hummed as he ground against me. The jewelled butterfly brooch on the lapel of his suit caught my nipple, and I cried out as his fingers dug into my shoulder.
“Sin, you can’t tell me off when you know it’s true.”
Kai’s presence drowned out my senses as I surrendered to his touch. He rubbed his cheek over the spot Sin had brushed with his nose, his hands roaming over my back like he was rubbing away Sin’s scent—even though the whole point was to cover me.
