“Okay, done. We’re having a wedding. We can make it a double if you want.” She looked at Ryland who shook his head fast as hell.
“Hell nah. I don’t know her like that.”
I laughed and looked at Sierra who rolled her eyes. “Nigga, I’m not trying to marry you either. We cool and everything but this is just about a free trip.”
She smiled and he slapped her ass. “Good, then at least you’re matching my energy.”
“This muthafucker.” Dedric chuckled.
“I’m about to let them know to drop the jet skis,” Ryland said and the rest of them followed him, leaving me and Makari.
“You need me to get on one knee?”
She shook her head. “No, that’s not us.”
“Good, ‘cause if I get down there you already know what it is.”
She narrowed her eyes and I dropped my hands to her ass and pulled her to me. “You know this isn’t random. I’ve been thinking about it, so don’t be all in your head trying to justify shit that just makes sense. We’re where we need to be.”
“I know.”
“Do you?”
“Yes, I know.”
I kissed her and gripped her ass, pulling her in closer. “Aight then, let’s go have some PG fun so I can get X-rated with you later.”
Chapter 23
Makari
This is happening.
I'm getting married.
It was our last night here, and neither of us backed down about this wedding, so it was happening. I inhaled and released it slowly, trying to calm my nerves as I stepped out on the sand and looked toward the shoreline where everyone was standing.
A goofy grin spread across my face just before Shiya stepped in front of me.
"You ready?" I nodded and my smile expanded more.
"This is weird. Is this weird?”
"No, it's not weird. It's cute and beautiful and the absolute best proposal I have ever experienced in my life because it was two million percent him and so fucking adorable that I'm kinda jealous."
"We still have time to make this a double." She rolled her eyes. "Who do you mean? Sierra and Land? Because I'm already married to Dedric.”
“You could do a vow renewal.”
“Nope, I’m not renewing shit until he proves that he's ready."
"You have a whole marriage and a kid. Don't you think that's proof enough?"
"No, he has some things to work on. Hell, we both do, but this is not about us. This is about you. So if you're ready, let’s go boo. You have a fine ass man waiting for you down there and he said I better hurry up and get you to him so he can marry his fine ass fiancée."
I grinned again and nodded. "Okay, let’s get married."
She handed me a bouquet of tropical flowers and we were on our way. When we reached the path to the beach defined with translucent lanterns holding candles, Ryland stepped up and extended his arm to me. I hooked mine around his and he looked down with a serious expression when Shiya stepped beside Dedric and they started down the aisle.
