Matt didn’t look completely convinced but nodded all the same. “Bello?” Matt rubbed his hand across Trevor’s shoulder.

Trevor turned into Matt’s touch with a little sound.

“Come on,bello, wake up.”

“Maybe you should plant a kiss on his sweet lips to draw him from his dreamless sleep?” Niall teased.

Matt snorted, and Trevor snuffled, then rolled onto his back. Matt leaned over Trevor’s body and kissed Trevor’s pink lips. Matt’s touch lingered, and Niall saw movement beneath the blankets. He loved watching Matt and Trevor together. It was both arousing and tender.

Trevor’s eyes fluttered open right as Matt pulled back from his lips.

“Matt.” Trevor sounded both happy and sleepy. His hand came out from under the blankets to cup Matt’s cheek. “I love you.”

Matt gasped and jerked his head up to look at Niall. Niall smiled but didn’t say anything. Matt’s gaze swung back toward Trevor, and he gathered the smaller man close.

“I love you too.” Matt’s hand reached out for Niall, who’d sat beside him on the bed. “I love you both very much.”

One of Trevor’s slender arms came around Matt’s neck, and the other hand rested on Niall’s chest. Their heads moved together, and Niall shared in his first three-way kiss. Three sets of lips, three tongues, none more demanding than another, all working in harmony to convey love and trust and unity.

Chapter Twelve

Niall sat stunned, listening to Trevor explain the DVD and finding his neighbor’s dog. That was the day Trevor had fled Niall’s after they had all made love for the first time. They’d called Trevor that night, and Niall wished he had listened to his instincts at the time and gone to Trevor when he sensed his honey was upset.

He’d known it! Known there was something wrong, then ignored all the other little signs over the past couple of months. Niall had been so wrapped up in building their relationship that he’d missed the very thing threatening to tear them apart. It was clear someone was after Trevor. Scared and angry, Niall’s first instinct was to hover over Trevor and protect his man, but he knew that would drive Trevor nuts. Niall looked at Matt, sitting next to him on the sofa.

Matt’s body was rigid. His fists were clenched on the cushions. Niall rubbed Matt’s back, and some of the tension leeched away when Matt settled into Niall’s touch. Trevor paced in front ofthe entertainment wall, his normally graceful movements jerky. Trevor stopped shining Niall’s floor long enough to look at them.

“I’m sorry. I have no idea who or why.”

“What do you need from us? How can we help?”

Trevor fell back on his usual non-verbal response and looked down at his feet. “The captain says he’ll have a uniform take me to and from work, unless I can make other arrangements.” He glanced over at his duffle still sitting beside the front door, then back toward Niall and Matt.

Matt nodded. “Done. One of us will be available whenever you need to go somewhere.”

“I don’t want—”

“Your welfare has never been, nor ever will be, an inconvenience.”

Matt’s voice was lower than normal, and Niall suspected their partner was doing everything within his power to prevent himself from yelling at that moment.

Niall continued to rub Matt’s back. “And we’ll all stay here to avoid any unnecessary back and forth.”

“Are you sure?” Trevor asked.

Niall nodded. “It’s what I’ve always wanted, and I’m not above exploiting the situation to get my way.” He smiled, and both Trevor and Matt smiled in return.

Trevor’s cell phone sent off an alert, and he went toward the kitchen to find it. Niall felt Matt tap him on the leg so he turned back to face him.

“I’m worried.” Matt said in a low voice.

“Me too, but neither of us are cops or anything of the like. We have to trust Trevor’s captain to handle the situation, and we’ll keep an eye on him when he’s home or out with one of us. We can’t lock him away, Matt. You know that.”

“I know. I don’t like it, but I do know.”

“Good. Now Valentine’s Day is this weekend. Let’s bunk down and enjoy the holiday together.”

Niall looked back at Trevor, who was quickly typing into the phone. He heard Trevor mumble something about “Logan” and “smartass”. Matt leaned across the sofa behind Niall toward Trevor.
