"Whatever you want, sunshine. Just stay."

Her expression softened.

"Sunshine?"

"Well, youdidmelt this grumpy mountain man’s frozen heart."

"That was terrible." But she was beaming. "I love it. And I love..."

She stopped herself, biting her lip.

"Say it," I whispered, my heart pounding.

"I love you."

I kissed her deeply, pouring everything I felt into her mouth like she’d never doubt it again.

When we broke apart, I rested my forehead against hers.

“And I love Lucy,” I said.

“The TV Show?” she asked.

“Yeah the TV Show,” I said, but before she could reply, I added, “But I love you more. God help me, but I do."

"Good."

She snuggled closer, her head tucked under my chin.

"Because you’re stuck with me now,” she said.

Looking down at her, I couldn’t help but smile.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

"If you rearrange my spice rack one more time, woman, I swear..."

"You’ll what?" I called from the kitchen, deliberately switching the paprika and cayenne. "Come in here and punish me?"

Griffin’s heavy footsteps approached. I bit back a grin. Right on cue.

"You’re doing this on purpose," he growled, pressing up behind me, reaching around to fix the spices.

"Maybe." I wiggled against him. "Is it working?"

He nipped my ear. "You’re supposed to be making dinner."

"And you’re supposed to be finishing that client call. But here we are."

"Call’s done." His hands settled on my hips. "Just in time to catch you terrorizingmykitchen again."
