"Ourkitchen," I corrected, turning in his arms. "And I’m not terrorizing it. I’m improving it."

He glanced at the new curtains I’d hung last week, the herb garden thriving in the window, the growing collection of magnets taking over the fridge.

"That what you call it?"

"Mm-hmm. Just like I improved the living room. And the bedroom. And..."

"And my life?"

His voice went soft as he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Smooth talker." But I melted inside, just a little. "Who knew a grumpy mountain man could be so romantic?"

"Only with you." He kissed my forehead. "And I’m not grumpy."

"Babe, you growled at the UPS guy yesterday."

"He was lingering."

"He was getting asignature."

"He was checking you out."

I laughed, wrapping my arms around his neck. "Jealous mountain man is my favorite mountain man."

"I thought sleepy mountain man was your favorite. That’s what you said this morning."

"That was before sexy cooking mountain man showed up." I rose on tiptoes to kiss him. "Though grumpy mountain man will always have a special place in my heart."

He smiled against my lips. "Lucky me."

"Luckyus," I corrected. "Now, are you going to help with dinner, or are you just gonna stand there being hot and distracting?"

"Depends." His hands slid lower. "Which would you prefer?"

The oven timer dinged.

"Save that thought," I said, reluctantly pulling away. "Food first. Then you can distract me all you want."

"Promise?"

I grabbed the casserole dish and winked. "Have I ever let you down?"

His expression softened. "Never. Not once."

"And I never will." I set the food down and walked straight back into his arms. "You’re stuck with me, remember?"

"Best damn thing that’s ever happened to me." He kissed me, then pulled back with a grimace. "Even if youdokeep rearranging my spices."

"Ourspices," I corrected again. "And just wait till you see what I’m planning for the bathroom."

His groan of mock horror got cut off by another kiss.

As I melted into him, I couldn’t stop smiling.

Who knew getting stranded in a snowstorm would lead to this?

Tohome.
