Parisa leaned in towards her, their eyes meeting.“What do you mean?”
“I mean, should we be —” But the rest of her words died on her tongue as Parisa leaned in towards her.Sera no longer cared that people could see them. She leaned in the rest of the way and slipped her fingers into Parisa’s hair.Parisa’s lips were soft and warm against her own, and she tasted like her Old Fashioned, smoky and little sweet, with a hint of the bitters settling on her tongue as she slid it across her Alpha’s lips.
Awareness of where they were began to hit her once again. She started to pull away, but Parisa held onto her, deepening the kiss and refusing to let go.Sera sat down her drink and gave in, resting her other hand on Parisa’s hip as she leaned into her.
Maybe it was getting out of the pack house.Maybe it was the fact that this was a date.Whatever the reason, Parisa was far more open and willing and Sera couldn’t let herself spoil the moment with something as silly as decency. It was dark up here, after all.She let her hands roam and slid her tongue into Parisa’s mouth because there was no more tense resistance.Parisa was hers and she was high on the feeling of it.
Parisa’s palm pressed into her thigh and heat spread through Sera’s body, her mind flooding with images of Parisa against her white sheets, naked with her hair splayed across her pillow, sounds of pleasure dripping from her lips.Sera needed to hear those. She needed to know what Parisa was like when she finally let go.She was just now getting a taste and it only made her starved for more.
Sera slid her hand up Parisa’s stomach and dared to let her fingertips graze her soft curves through her dress.
Parisa pulled back on a laugh, guiding Sera’s hand away.“Now that might be a little much for our current surroundings.”
Sera’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment.“Sorry.”
“Don’t be.You make me want to get carried away, too.”She paused, cupping Sera’s cheek.“I’m getting thereeshgham, I promise. It’s just that these casual touches were all I allowed myself for decades and now that I can do more — it’s overwhelming sometimes.I’m very aware that everything is new and yet nothing is new because it’s you.”
“Exactly, so how do we do this?”Sera asked, settling back in her own seat.“What’s supposed to change?”
“I don’t really want anything to change.”
“So it’s just the same?”
“With more?”Parisa added.
“With a little more.Like a really good ice cream from that place downtown only now it’s got sprinkles on top.”
“Like a good meal at our favorite restaurant but it comes with a perfectly paired wine.”
“Yes.”Sera smiled.“I like that.”
“Me, too.”Parisa paused.“Are kisses the sprinkles?”
Sera sputtered as she took a sip of her drink.“That was a ridiculously adorable thing to say.And maybe.”
“If it’s not kisses, then what are those ‘sprinkles’ you mentioned? What are we adding to what we already have?”Parisa leaned in with a sly grin. She lowered her voice, “What do I get to look forward to?”
“I don’t know,” she deflected, embarrassment washing over her again “What’s the wine you mentioned, then? You just like to see me flustered, don’t you?”
“Yes.Absolutely,” Parisa admitted with a laugh.“You’re cute when you blush.”
“And you’re sexy when you do literally anything.”Parisa froze and Sera felt victorious.“I like to see you flustered, too.”
Parisa ran her finger around the edge of her glass.“So this is what we’ll do, then?Make flustered messes out of the other to see who wins?”
“If we make it a game, then I’m definitely playing to win.”
“I wouldn't expect anything less from you.”Parisa got quiet for a moment, staring across the rooftop without looking at anything in particular.“Honestly, though, I’ve got a lot going on in the back of my mind — of course I do given the circumstances which I’m choosing to ignore — not the least of which is how I’m supposed to act now that we’re this and not just friends anymore. It’s been ages since I’ve dated, so I’ve forgotten how to do this, and the only thing I know is how I always am around you.”
“I like who you are around me.Nothing needs to change.”
“But some things will.Good things, right?”Parisa’s lips quirked up in the corners.“Like before, but better.”She took a long sip of her drink and looked Sera in the eyes.“After tomorrow, everything will be better,” she said with finality.
Sera nodded sharply as pride, more than worry, filled her heart.“It will be over before it begins.”
“He’s a tough adversary.”
“Not nearly as strong as you.”
