“Nah, can’t say that I have. I liked to save all the ass stuff for you.” He winked at me and I tried to frown but it turned into a smirk instead.

Slowly, I climbed off the bed and turned out Kareema was right, my muscles kicked in and gripped the butt plug, holding it in place. The way Bear looked at me set me on fire from the inside out. I was certain flames were licking my ears and the back of my neck.

“Pick out one of the dresses you got today. I’m going to start on dinner. Tito will be here in a few hours.”

“I can help with dinner,” I offered, tucking wisps of hair behind my ear.

“I got it, Cecily.”

“Bear, you can let me help you.” I meant those words in more ways than one and it wasn’t missed on him. He looked at me for a moment then nodded reluctantly. I knew he was used to doing everything alone. He was used to freezing people out when it came to life but I wanted him to know that I was willing to help however I could.

“I know. It’s weird having anyone help. When I make a decision to do something on my own…that’s it.”

“You’re not alone anymore.” I reached up and touched the side of his face. He pressed my palm against his warm skin then kissed my inner-wrist. Something so simple lit me up.

“Thank you, Cecily.” He hooked an arm around my waist and pulled me against his body. He was so warm and solid it made me lose my train of thought. It derailed and veered off to a place where nothing existed outside of me and Bear. “Not just for offering to help with dinner but thank you for being there.” He stared at me like he knew nothing else existed outside of us too. Like we shared the same beautiful delusion if only for a few sacred moments. “You have your own shit going on and I know you’re still broken up over losing Kaiden but somehow you manage to be there for me in the midst of all this fucking drama and danger.”

“I love you, Bear. Where else would I be?”

He blinked like my words were magical. They seemed to cast a spell on him. His eyes burned with so many unspoken words. I saw them spinning around and around. I watched his brows furrow and his Adam’s apple dip.

“You’re too fucking good for me, Cecily.” His voice was a growl that reached through the spaces in my rib cage and squeezed my heart. I hated hearing him say shit like that.

“I’m not too good for you. I’m perfect for you. Only you, Bear Stone. I have a fucking butt plug in my ass,” I laughed a little. “ But it’s because you pull something out of me that I didn’t know existed. Something wild and untamed. Something dark and beautiful like a black rose with thorns of gold because everything you touch is golden. Even the thorny things. We need each other. We need the good and the bad. We need the balance in between.

You can’t push me away. I’m not going anywhere. You’re stuck with me and I’m stuck with you. Stop treating me like a fucking angel.”

Bear smiled at me and the sight of those perfectly straight and white teeth against his onyx skin sent my heart erratically racing all around my damn chest. I thought I would have a heart attack right there.

“You’ll always be my angel. My baby doll.” His finger found its way into my dimple then he leaned over and kissed my forehead. It was the sweetest moment. I wished I could bottle it and keep it forever.

I couldn’t stand there wishing for forever though. We had a dinner to prepare for and I knew it meant a lot to Bear so I wanted everything to go off without a hitch. I was going to help him however I could and we were going to land this fucking Columbian connect.

BEAR

The entire house smelled like jambalaya. Spices and herbs danced in the air playing behind the notes of jazz while Cecily and I cleaned up the pots and pans. I made a small spread of cornbread, dirty rice and jambalaya while Cecily showed out for dessert. She made strawberry cheesecake bars and a caramel pound cake. Shit, even if Tito didn’t want to make further deals with me, he’d definitely want to come over for dinner again.

Every time I stole a glance at Cecily hard at work, my chest warmed at the thought of her carrying my last name of her carrying my child. I never knew I could have those feelings but they were alive and well in my heart. The stronger they grew, the more comfortable I became with them.

“Go put on your dress,” I told her after I took my time committing every feature of her face to memory.

“Shit, it is almost time for him to come, isn’t it?” She wiped her hands on the dishtowel and smiled. I had no idea why she was smiling but I wasn’t going to complain.

“You are so damn fine, Bear.” She shook her head then reached up to tousle my locs, letting them slip between her fingers.

“Is that right?” I slid my hand around to her ass and tapped it a few times. Her cheeks burned a deep plum as she dashed away from me. “How you holding up back there, baby doll?”

“Fine. Everything is fine. Youreallywant me to keep this in all through dinner?”

“Yes. I already told you that. When do I ever go back on what I asked?” I lifted an eyebrow and closed the dishwasher, never breaking our stare.

“Never,” she answered softly.

“Exactly. I want that virgin asshole nice and primed for me because tonight you’re letting me in.” I pointed at her for emphasis and her eyes widened. I loved the look of shock on her face. She looked like a deer in headlights but I knew she wouldn’t run away. Cecily was going to charge straight at the headlights and hope for the best. I was going to make sure the crash later on tonight was full of pleasure and pain. I was going to steal orgasm after orgasm from her perfect body until she begged me to stop.

I watched her ass jiggle while she hurried away from me and my dick stiffened knowing that pretty little ass of hers held a treasure for me later on. Only me. At this point, anyone who even flirted with Cecily would incur my full wrath. I didn’t play well with others and I didn’t like to give the impression that what was mine was up for grabs.

Cecily wasmine.
