“I’m sorry if making you talk about your past is difficult. It’s just…fascinating. I don’t understand how someone could hurt you.” He seemed truly perplexed by it all.

“There are bad people in the world and they do bad things to innocent kids and…” I pushed out a shaky breath and shut my eyes. The memories were surfacing quickly and I didn’t want them to ruin my night with Lennox. “Listen, I don’t want to talk about that shit right now. What Idowant though, is…”

“Some Hennessy?” That smile was dangerous and it hit me right in my stupid, vulnerable heart.

“Abso-fucking-lutely. Let’s hit the bar.” When I stood up, Lennox stayed seated and made sure to stare at my ass. “Come on, pervert.”

“Hey, you shouldn’t be shaped like a sin.” He stood and held me from behind, kissing a trail of fire and bad decisions along my neck.

“The bar, Lennox. Let’s go.”

“Wait just a minute.” He stopped talking so that his mouth could work voodoo on my skin. I didn’t have time to protest because Lennox spun me around and hiked up my dress, exposing my ass.

“Baby, we have to go. You promised me Hennessy.”

“Baby?” He had a devilish smirk hiding in his voice. I turned my head and looked over my shoulder just to see it.

“I said what I said.”

His hands slid up my thighs. He pushed one between my legs to cup my pussy. “If I let you go free right now, you promise we’ll make a movie when we get back?”

“We can make a movie when we get there,” I purred. I turned to face Lennox completely and his eyebrows were nearly touching his hairline.

“What?” I chuckled. I rolled my eyes and tugged him by the hand as we walked out of the door.

When we got to the bar it seemed like everyone stopped to stare at us.

I meaneveryone.

Oh my fucking god. It was like we were celebrities. I expected Lennox to shy away from the attention, especially from the other women. They had to have seen him and Sutton earlier. Now they were seeing him with me.

He made no attempt to hide his hand on the small of my back as he guided me in. “You wanna sit outside?” He asked in my ear. To anyone looking, we seemed like a happy couple. We probably shouldn’t have seemed that way. Not on an island where everyone was a tourist and people saw each other during the day while we all participated in various activities. I remembered a few faces from activities I’d done.

“The wind is picking up out there. It might be getting ready to rain.” I said, staring at the sky.

“It’ll be fine,” he shrugged. I couldn’t say no to him.

“Why are you hell-bent on sitting outside?” I chuckled.

“Because your eyes look beautiful in the moonlight. I realized that last night.”

I was his.

I would do whatever he wanted me to do because he made me feel like a princess.

We took a table outside where we could watch the waves crash against the shore. It was picturesque and it matched the way Lennox made my blood rush and my heart pound.

Even with all the beauty around us, Lennox stared at me.

My skin buzzed.

I felt special for once in my fucking life. I felt like I was wanted. Like I meant something to someone.

I wondered if Lennox’s wife felt this much love from him.

“Everyone is staring at us,” I whispered, lowering my chin a bit. Lennox reached across the table and tipped my chin up.

“Because you’re the most beautiful girl on this island. Everyone can see it, Margot.” He brought my hand up to his lips and kissed my knuckles making my head swim.
