“Babe.” Giselle wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “We’re gonna head out.”
Willow frowned. “But I’m not done.”
Margot was in her face, all sloppy-drunk smiles. “Me neither! Me and the girls are gonna stay.”
“We don’t have the room booked all night,” Ronnie pointed out.
Margot waved her off. “That’s fine. We’ll just go to the bar. Right, Willow?”
Willow grinned. “Yes!”
There was music in the bar too. She could dance there, no problem.
Bailey was giving her that concerned motherly look. She was gonna make such a good mother. A strict one, but good.
“Thanks.” Bailey’s tone was dry.
And apparently Willow was saying things out loud again.
“I think you should come with us,” Bailey was saying. “How will you get home?”
“Michelle’s house is two blocks away.” Margot pointed to one of her friends, who waved with a big grin. “We’re all crashing there tonight.” She shot Willow another broad smile. “There’s plenty of room for Willow.”
Willow threw her arms around Margot, and they both nearly toppled.
“Okay…” Bailey looked uncertain. “Are you sure?”
Willow planted her hand on her hip, still clinging to Margot for support. “You said it yourself. I work too much. I’m out now, so I wanna stay out.” Her hips started shimmying as a new song started. “I want to dance!”
Giselle and Bailey exchanged a look. “Okay. If you’re sure.”
Willow gave her bestest, most charming smile as she slurred, “I’ve never been more sure of anything.”
Chapter Thirty-One
Eric watched Drew converse with Bailey on the far side of the bar.
The bartender leaned over. “You want another, or are you ready to close out?”
He glanced over at Drew again, and at Bailey, who seemed to be leading the charge to leave. Where was Willow? He didn’t see her, but she’d no doubt be leaving with her sister.
“I’ll close out.”
The bartender went off to get his tab just as Drew returned to tell him what he’d already guessed. “I’m gonna drive the ladies back.”
Eric nodded as Drew spoke. Bailey was hovering a few feet behind Drew, like she was afraid if she got too close, she might get Spencer cooties.
The thought made him smirk.
“It was cool to hang, though, man,” Drew was saying.
“Yeah. It’s been a minute.” Eric sounded as distracted as he felt. He was busy watching the ladies emerge from the back room, one by one, pulling on their coats and ready to file out into the cold night.
Drew clapped a hand on his shoulder. “We’ll have to do it again soon.”
Eric nodded but found himself saying, “Where’s Willow?”
“What’s it to you?” Bailey snapped.
