Oh heck.Dahlia clamped her lips shut as she fought yet another surge of emotions.

Lizzy still caught it though, and she leaned in with a sweet smile. “I know we didn’t hit it off right away, but I wanted to say I’m glad you’re here. Not just at the wedding, but… here. In Aspire.”

She had to swallow hard before she could manage, “Thanks, Lizzy. I’m glad I’m here too.”

Lizzy pulled her in for a hug, and Dahlia caught Rose dabbing at her eyes as she looked on from where she sat. Emma was smiling over at them too, and her eyes were shiny with tears as she blew a kiss in their direction and mouthed, “Welcome to the family, sis.”

“Welp, now I’m gonna be a puffy-eyed mess all night,” she muttered when Lizzy let her go.

Lizzy laughed. “Join the club. This family has been through a lot this year. And something tells me the drama is far from over.”

Dahlia took a deep breath as she nodded, thoughts of Daisy bringing a wave of guilt and regret. She should be here too. She missed her fun-loving sister something fierce right now.

“You’re probably right,” she said as JJ pulled her against his side in a protective move. “But for tonight, I say we enjoy this wedding that you so excellently helped plan.”

Lizzy made them all laugh as she tossed her hair. “What, this? It was nothing.”

“It was everything,” Emma said as she joined them. Nash was right behind her, gazing at his bride like she was the most beautiful thing the world had ever known.

She looked absolutely stunning in her white gown. It was a masterpiece of tulle and satin with a sweetheart neckline and shoestring straps. Dahlia didn’t know how she wasn’t freezing. She was probably too hopped up on pure joy to feel anything but that.

Reaching for her sister, she took her hand and gave it a squeeze. “She’s right, Lizzy. We can’t thank you enough for your help with the wedding.”

“You seriously could go pro as a wedding planner,” Dahlia added.

“Ooh.” Rose perked up. “Could you help with mine?”

Dex was grinning at her like a lovesick fool, and for once, Dahlia didn’t mind seeing everyone around her so happy in love.

Probably because she was a lovesick fool herself.

“I’d love to help.” Lizzy touched her chest like she was about to give a speech for the Oscars. “We should talk color schemes—”

“Later,” Kit cut in. He wrapped his arms around his wife’s waist. “The twins are dancing with Grandma and Grandpa, which means this dance is just for you and me.”

Lizzy giggled as she turned into his arms, calling to Rose over her shoulder. “We’ll talk color schemes later… after a dance.”

Rose laughed, leaning in to Dex, who was giving her lower back a rub.

“Do you want to dance?” he asked.

She wrinkled her nose. “Could we just sit here and relax a bit? I think my back and feet could use a rest.”

“Of course.” He kissed her temple. “There’s no place I’d rather be.”

Emma laughed as she turned to Dahlia. “Are Nash and I that sickening?”

“You’re worse.” Dahlia grinned.

Emma’s head fell back with a loud laugh. “That’s what I thought. Come on, hubby, let’s dance.”

“As you wish, my lovely wife,” Nash said with a grin.

JJ’s arm tightened around them. “Well, Lia? You want to dance?”

“I’d love to.” She winked at him as she led the way to the dance floor. “If you’re half as good at dancing as you are at throwing an ax, I’m one lucky lady.”

He was laughing as he joined her amid the other dancers, and just as he reached her side, the musicians switched to a ballad.
