“I cannot believe it’s really you. I had heard rumors of a male gorgon that was formerly Athena’s servant, living on this island. I had my suspicions that it was you, and sure enough, they were accurate. Meduso, you still look so beautiful. So magnificent.”

As flattered as I was, with my face now flushed, I still felt slightly ashamed that he did not get to experience me as he once had. I fretted over the idea that he would no longer be attracted to me with my added serpentine features.

I placed my chin into the cup of his shoulder, still not daring to take my eyes off of him through our reflection. “You have grown into a full-fledged man. A robust and handsome one,” I added.

His emotional urges must have been heightened as much as mine were, because he turned around to face me, but had his eyes closed once again. His lips locked with my lips, and we held each other in a passionate embrace as we kissed. I felt trapped in a dream world as our mouths would not dare to separate from one another. This was a dream that I never wanted to wake up from.

Oh, how I missed the feeling of those soft, luscious lips pressed against my own. The taste of his tongue and mouth were just as I remembered them. It was as if our eight-year absence from one another was a minor blip on the timeline and we were back at Seriphos, still as youthful and innocent as we once were.

Perseus tore his clothes off, revealing to me his perfectly round chest and the many curves that formed his abs. Even when we were younger, I always thought Perseus to be extremely muscular, so the fact that their girth had increased only added to my physical attraction towards him.

I was able to fully feel and appreciate his manhood in every possible way. I serviced him with my mouth, pleased that I was able to allow him to release himself. This caused me to become less insecure about my own appearance. Perseus was still drawn to me and wanted to make love to me. It elated me to know that this had not changed.

After an hour of passion, we rested on the floor of the cave, staring up at the stalactites extending from the ceiling. “Perseus, I have so many questions for you. I don’t know where to begin.”

“Likewise. I have many for you as well. But, let’s save all of that for tomorrow. I’ve had a long journey here to find you, and now that I have, I just want to rest and enjoy our slumber together.”

I smirked at his suggestion, but did not dare to look over at him. I had to be very cautious about it, no matter how tempted I was, wanting to stare into those hungry eyes of his. “Yes. Let us sleep now. I want to lie in your arms as we once did in your bed in Seriphos.”

I turned so that my back was pressed into his torso, and he wrapped his arms around me in a warm cuddle. “You can rest now, Meduso. I am not going anywhere. There will be many more nights like this to come.”

We both woke up the following morning, never wanting to let go of each other. Eventually, we got ourselves together.

“I’m starving,” Perseus exclaimed.

“Well, let me run out and get you something to eat. But you have to wait here in this cave.”

“Why can’t I go with you? I can easily climb trees to collect eggs in the nests. I can also fish for us,” he offered.

“Because my sisters do not know of your presence. The last thing I would want to happen would be for them to accidentally look you directly in your eyes,” I shared.

“Okay. You make a strong point.”

“Yes. Plus, they will never come into mybed cave. It’s a rule my sisters and I established with one another. So, you will be safe here. Just give me a few minutes and I will be back.”

I scurried to Euryale’s garden and began gathering some of the easily accessible fruits and vegetables she was growing. For now, this would have to do until I informed my sisters about Perseus’s stay with us. Then, he would be able to help us hunt for more variety of foods across the island.

“Here.” I laid out the basket of food I collected for him.

“This should hold me over until later. Thank you, Meduso.”

He began to chow down on everything with great speed. I nearly forgot about his demi-god nature and appetite. He devoured the entire contents of the basket with ease.

“We need to come up with an innovation,” he recommended.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“There has to be an easier way for me to look at you. It’s going to be rather difficult to keep this up, where I am constantly having to make sure I’m closing my eyes around you or trying to glance at you through the shield and other things that give off a reflection.”

“Well, there was this unique idea one warrior had when he visited the island. He held a squared piece of glass in front of him at all times. Much to my amazement, he was able to look me directly in the eyes through it, and he did not change to limestone. However, sadly for him, having to hold that glass did no advantage for his swordsmanship skills. He was no match for me.”

“Hmmm. Do you have any sort of transparent glass on this island? All of the stones in this cave won’t suffice. I can only see my reflection through them,” he said.

“Yes, actually. I kept that piece of glass that warrior had. I figured it could come in handy someday.” I then rummaged through my pile of supplies and retrieved it. I slowly handed it over to Perseus with care, cautioning him. “Be careful. Some of the edges are sharp.”

He examined the material with great focus. I could practically see the wheels in his head turning. “What if we melted this so that it could at least cover my eyes?” he asked, waiting for my opinion.

“That seems manageable, but how will you hold it over your eyes without it falling off?” As I made this remark, I came up with an idea. “Wait, I actually have a solution to that.”
