“Nah dawg,I’m not getting in the car with her ass. I’ll walk or call a Uber first.” That’s exactly what the fuck I did; ordered an Uber who was there in less than five minutes. “You coming or not?” I asked him.
“Man,she’s already on her way.” He said throwing his hands up in the air, “Why you so scared of the bitch? Damn nigga.”
“My nigga,I’m not scary, I’m smart.” I hopped in the car and rolled the window down. “I’ll probably be sleep all morning, so don’t call me. See you at the shop later, I’m taking my ass back home.”
I rolledthe window up as we pulled off right on time cause Brittany’s little Beamer was pulling up. When I got home this time I went and knocked on the bedroom window forcing Kisha to get up.
“Meek.”She rubbed her eyes when she opened the door. “Why you in a Uber?” She asked.
I stepped insideand closed the door behind me before putting my lips on her warm cheek kissing it. “The police pulled us over and towed our car, they took our guns and shit to.”
“Foreal?”She asked. “That’s crazy.” She wobbled behind me.
“Why didn’tyou answer the door or the phones earlier?”
“I was sleep, and you should’ve picked a better time.” She said. Like I said before, I couldn’t even be mad at her. The house phone rang causing us both to look at it crazy. “That must be Reesie calling this early in the morning.” Kish said.
I pickedit up on speaker waiting to hear the recording, but I got Mya instead. “Hello? Meek? Where’s Kisha?” She asked with anger in her voice. I knew she was pissed about something.
Kisha grabbedthe phone but left it on speaker. “What’s wrong with you Mya.”
“I’m so fuckingmad right now I can break a bitch whole fucking face!”
“Why?”Kish asked confused, shit I wanted to know too.
She huffed.“Do you know this nigga had the nerve to let that bitch Brittany drop him off home? To the same fucking house, we live at together? Like what the fuck was he even doing with the bitch? I thought it was boys night out or some shit.”
I wantedto run in the fucking room and close the door cause I already knew Kisha was about to trip and the shit ain’t have nothing to do with me. Round number two was coming as soon as she hung up that phone.Damn Mya! Why she had to call here with that shit?
No matterwhat the fuck I said to Kisha, no matter how many times I told her that bitch wasn’t with us and explained exactly what happened, she didn’t believe me. In her mind, I used the Uber for a cover up and that wasn’t the fucking case. However, I was tired of arguing with her.
“I’m not doingthis shit with you Kisha. I’ll be glad when shit goes back to normal after you have lil man. Shit, at this point I don’t even know what the fuck you want me to do!” I said getting out the shower trying to dry my fucking nuts off in peace.
She leanedup against the doorframe. “I want you to tell me the truth Meek, like seriously. I know I’m fat and ugly right now, but you don’t have to play these games.”
I lookedat her and saw nothing besides natural beauty. “It’s too bad you feel like that. You’re beautiful.” I told her.
“Well,if I’m so beautiful then why are you entertaining someone else?”
I shookmy head and walked past her. “You know what Kish? I love you too much to do this with you. I’mma let you have some time to yourself and when I think you’ve figured out that all I want is you…I’ll come back.” I got dressed and grabbed my keys.So much for some fucking sleep cause it didn’t look like that shit was happening.
“My ceremony is tomorrow.”She said.
I kissedher lips and left her standing there. “I’ll be there.”
It didn’t take longbefore I was in the truck and down the street, first stop was breakfast, next stop was to the liquor store and after that; I might think about going to the shop. I wasn’t in the fucking mood just yet.
CHAPTER 23
For the past twenty-four hours all I’d been doing was crying because that was how long Meek had been gone. He called to check on me, but he refused to come home and that shit was killing me; this was a different kind of pain. I got myself dressed in the dress I was wearing for my ceremony today. I finally did it and was about to receive all of my certificates. The shop was coming along great, and my interior designer was the bomb. Today they would be painting and per my request, I wanted glitter walls. Instead of putting on some heels, I put on some cute flats and walked to the door when I heard the bell ringing.
I openedit the door for Meek’s mom Victoria who was trying her best to be nice to me these past couple of months. She called earlier and asked if she could attend although she knew Meek and I were kind of having a moment right now. For the first time, she didn’t look ghetto fabulous. She toned it down a bit. “Well don’t you look pretty?” She said walking in with a card in her hand.
I thankedher although I didn’t feel like I was pretty. “Thanks.”
She sat on the barstool.“And where’s Meek?” She asked.
“I don’t know.”
