“If it means anything!I apologize about that Kish! I was young and dumb baby, young and dumb!” He yelled going back to the game.
I walked rightalong without responding; my next rivals were Dreka and the rest. The looks on her their faces were one to die for. I wanted to scream in laughter! They hadn’t picked their mouths up from the floor since I got on turf. A year ago, they were clowning me about how busted I was, jumping me, and calling CPS causing me to have to leave here. They had no idea the hell I lived in after leaving the grip of my mama’s hell.
I walked right passthose bitches not giving them the time, or attention. I made it no more than a couple of feet past them, and it wouldn’t be like Dreka to not say anything.
“Bitchyou still aren’t no better than anybody else. You the same busted bitch from the back of the projects. How does it feel to taste my leftover niggas?” She teased.
At first,I was just going to keep walking, but I could no longer let people just walk all over me. With a smile on my face, I turned around and walked right up to Dreka.
“What the fuckyour scary ass gonna do?” She asked without flinching.
“This bitch ain’t about shit.”One of her home girls said. “Just another gold digger.” I remembered her to, she was one of the ones that helped jump me.
I reacheddown in my purse pulling out the little gun that Kidd had just given me and in one swift motion, I aimed at all of them causing them all to hit the floor.
“This bitch is crazy!”Dreka yelled.
“No bitch.”I said calmly putting it to her head. “I’m not crazy. I just want to be left the fuck alone, ya heard?” I frowned. “Now, I’m gonna come back to these projects whenever the fuck I want to and you’re going to leave me the fuck alone, none of you bitches don’t have another time to say shit else to me, you bitches did enough to add on to the misery in my life. Not today bitches.” I shook my head. “Not to-motherfucking-day!”
“Damn Kisha.”Dreka’s voice cracked as she tried not to break. “I didn’t know it was like that. My bad, you got that.” She said.
I lookedat her pitiful ass and shook my head. This girl had no idea how many nights I wanted to just commit suicide behind all of the shit they helped to add too. “I know I got that.” I let her know. “And another thing bitch, learn how to keep your leftovers and maybe they wouldn’t be spoiling the shit out of me.”
I walked awayand never looked back; a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I took a deep breath and walked to Meek’s old building just to get to the door and see it boarded up with a lock on it. Just that quick sadness came over me. His mama no longer lived here, and I refused to ask any one of these grimy ass people if they had any information on him. I sighed and walked back to the car; hopefully I’d see him soon.
Kidd was leanedup against the car talking on his phone while waiting for me. “Everything aiight?” He asked. “Any problems?”
I shookmy head telling him ‘no’ and got back in the driver side changing my attitude without looking suspect to him.
“Who were you looking for?”He asked when we got to the stop sign.
“A old friend named ‘Meek’.”I blurted not thinking much about it.
A few seconds went by,and I noticed that he hadn’t said anything. The look he had before was replaced with anger.
“What’s wrong?”I asked.
He didn’t answerfrom his mouth, his hand connecting with my face as he slapped the shit out of me did enough talking for him. He hit me so hard my face hit the side of the window.
“Ahhh!”I screamed holding my cheek as my ears rang. “Kidd! What’s wrong baby?” I asked with a shaky voice, I didn’t understand what was happening.
“Don’tyou ever fucking disrespect me like that again Kisha. I’m your man, you don’t need no other male friends. Don’t you ever go looking for no other nigga or next time it’s gonna be worse.” He said calmly. “Now drive.”
I placedboth of my hands on the steering wheel and tried to focus through the tears burning my eyes, when we got home that night he ran out and brought me my first diamond necklace and an apology card that he sat on the nightstand so I could see it when I woke up. This was only the beginning.
CHAPTER 6
“This shit is nice in here!” I yelled over the music as Reesie danced in front of me wearing nothing besides a short black dress not leaving anything to the imagination. We’d been working hard, and it was only right that we finally made ourselves available for some fun tonight. We were at one of the biggest annual pack jams in Miami. Everybody who was somebody was up in this bitch.
“It is, huh?”She turned around wrapping her arms around my neck.
“You want another drink?”I asked her.
“Patron on the rocks will do.”
I walked offtoward the bar ignoring the thirsty ass looks from plenty of females on the way. I was a young flyy nigga, but I wasn’t looking for another girl although I could if I wanted. It was so hot up in the spot it was starting to smell like musk andhair spritz. I went to the bar to order, only to find the damn line wrapped around the corner so I decided to drain the main vein and come back. I handled my business, washed my hands, and checked myself out in the mirror. This custom-made Burberry fit was on point; I tried to get a matching fit for Reesie, but she insisted on wearing that little black dress.
I walkedout the restroom and had to stop for a minute, distracted by the chick that stood a few feet away with her back turned. She was wearing the fuck out of a crème Prada dress and the way her hair flowed down her back, I knew it had to be hers. I wasn’t looking for another girl, but it wasn’t any real nigga up in here that could stop themselves from looking at those curves. I shook my head and walked past her only to be bumped by her on accident as she tried to take a step back.
