“Blair,” he sighed.
There would be time for softness, but that’s not what I wanted at that moment.
I lifted my head and brushed my lips against his. “Don’t stop.” Then I bit his liphard.
Softness evaporated, and Asher’s lips crashed against mine, driving my head back into the mattress.
Pent up longing added fuel to the fire that was our desire.
My dress ripped down the center. Asher threw it to the side of the room without breaking our kiss, taking the built-in bra with it.
My hands dug into his hair, pressing my naked chest to his muscular one. I rubbed against him, yearning for the fabric of my underwear to disappear.
As if reading my mind, Asher’s hands traveled along my waist. He hooked a finger under the strappy material and tugged.
“Asher?”
His hand froze.
So did I.
Through my lusty haze, I recognized the owner of the voice.
Asher pulled back, breaking our kiss. He stared down at me, indecision seeping into his heated gaze.
Immediately, I let him see the confidence in mine. I would not regret what had happened. I refused to. And neither should he.
“Ash?” Kayla called again. She sounded like she was at the exterior door, but I knew the distance wouldn’t have prevented her from hearing our heavy breathing. She might even be able to hear our racing hearts.
Asher exhaled, then shouted. “One moment, Kayla.”
A silencing barrier fell around us. It’d been a mistake not to have one in place right when we started kissing.
Still lying on top of me, Asher eyes flickered over my face, looking for a hint of what I was thinking.
I let him see my lingering desire and my lack of regret.
Relief crept into his gaze, but he blinked and a blank expression fell into place. “I have to go,” he stated. I was pleased to hear the reluctance in the four words. “The pack needs to debrief everything that happened during the attack.”
I offered a reassuring smile, once again stroking his face. “I understand.” And I did. Pack safety was of the utmost importance to all pack members—no matter what pack you were talking about.
Again, Asher’s eyes flickered between my own.
I smiled at him. “I don’t regret this, Asher.”
“Neither do I.”
My smile brightened. “Good.”
Asher leaned down for another kiss. It was meant to be short, but passion took control again. I rolled Asher onto the bed, straddling him, grinding my lower half against him when we heard, “Ash, seriously. This cannot wait.”
I groaned.
Asher growled.
Moving before I talked myself out of it, I hopped off the bed and pressed my back against the wall by the bathroom door.
Asher sat up, and the hunger in his gaze as he looked over me made my knees go weak.
