I looked to Krew but then back to the man. “But I don’t feel any different at all.”

“You won’t for a while,” the man smiled. “But rest assured it’s there. In your veins, settling in. And your cut should fully heal as the magic settles in.”

Krew pulled me to my feet while I looked at my hands, flipping them over and back, looking for any sign of color or magic, any slithering that I had always been able to notice on the other Enchanted.

But there was nothing there, just my hands.

Krew brought my chin up to look him in the eyes. “Soul bound.” He brushed a gentle kiss to my lips. “I had suspected it, hoped like hell for it, but wasn’t entirely sure until now.”

Owen slapped Krew on the back. “You were right.”

“You suspected it?” I gaped. “And didn’t tell me?”

“Quite a while ago actually.” He gave me a shrug. “It would not have changed a thing, heart bound or soul bound. I was marrying you regardless.”

“Then how did you know?”

Krew gave me a smirk. “I’ve been hearing and feeling when your emotions are extreme for a while now. Also my magic has been reacting toyouremotions in addition to my own.”

Hearing? As in he could hear my thoughts?“You wha—” the last word died on my lips as I heard them running through the trees and caught that familiar gray blur. “Rafe.”

All three men turned and saw him as he came through the clearing, coming straight for us. But then there was another wolf following him. And another. And another.

It was the entire pack. I stepped forward to greet them, moving past all three shocked men.

“Jorah,” Krew warned softly.

“I know,” I offered at a whisper. “I’ll be careful.” I crouched down. “Hi, Rafe. Brought everyone for the party, I see.”

Rafe swung his head backward toward the rest of them and then laid down, pressing his nose between his paws into the grass of the meadow.

One by one, all the rest of them did also. Even the baby wolves laid down and pressed their nose into the grass between their little paws.

Heart hammering, I spun slightly toward Krew, tears in my eyes. “Krew?”

“Unbelievable,” Owen said.

“What are they doing?” I asked as I stood back up. “Why are they all just lying down like this?”

“They aren’t,” John offered softly, “they are bowing.”

I gasped and put a hand at my chest as I looked to Krew and John. “Because I am royalty now?” I shook my head. “That is ridiculous.” I turned back to the wolves. “You know I don’t care about that, Rafe. I mean, thanks, Buddy, but I am no royal. I am and forever will be just the same woman who decided you looked too thin and needed the jerky that one day.” I crouched back down, “But thanks for coming to my wedding since no one else could.”

Tail slightly swinging, he rose slowly and sniffed his way over to my hand, sniffing along the cut in my palm. Then the wolves were all moving, turning to head back into the forest.

“Until we meet again?” I asked his retreating back.

He howled, the noise far louder this close than I had ever heard before. I almost wanted to cover my ears, but I didn’t want to startle them.

One by one the rest of the wolves answered as they headed back into the forest. They were sprinting and yelping as they went. Almost as if... almost is if they werehappy.

I turned back to Krew to find him grinning brilliantly at me. My husband. My soulmate. Everything I had ever wanted in a partner in life, right there before me. He was mine. And I was his.

I saw a flash of light and there was blue magic in the sky, and then a loud noise as Keir landed in the meadow with us.

Krew gave him a confused look. “I told you—”

“What did you do?”Keir roared, stomping for Krew.
