“I’m a MP. I’m always seeing potential problems.” Rafe reached down and entwined his fingers with hers. “Meet you guys over at the grandstand?”

“Sure, Mooney. We’ll save you a place for the concert,” Kevin said. “Nice to meet you, Debbie.”

The other two echoed Kevin as Rafe guided Debbie away. “That sucked.”

Debbie came to a stop, causing the couple behind them to almost run them over. “Really? It sucked talking to me?” She tried to pull her hand out of his.

“What? No.” Rafe scrambled to correct her misinterpretation of his statement. “It sucked that my friends interrupted us. I wanted to get to know you better.”

She stood there looking at Rafe for a minute before she leaned in and placed a kiss on his cheek. Debbie had to go up on her toes to reach but she wasn’t that much shorter than him.

“Does that mean I can get your number?”In for a penny, right?Rafe waited expectantly for an answer.

“Yeah, I think you can. Wait right here,” she instructed as she went up the stairs into the truck. Debbie came back and handed him a slip of paper. “Text me? I’m here most of the week.” She hesitated a second before placing another kiss on his cheek then scooting back up the steps.

“Oh yeah, you’re meant to be with me,” Rafe mumbled before he turned to go find his friends.
