“Yeah, I guess so.” I say playfully before hearing one of Ace's men come over the earpiece, telling us that they are in position, and my father is there. Reaching up I press the button on the earpiece before I say. “Five minutes out.” Knowing it takes me five minutes to get from here to the house.

Ace leans down and presses his lips against mine in a hard, meaningful kiss, like this could be our last, as his hand slides up around the back of my neck, deepening the kiss. I meltinto him, my hand sliding up his chest to his shoulder, before getting to his neck, embracing this for just a minute longer before our lips part and Ace says. “Let's get this over with so we can go home.” We both turn and head back out of the cave, heading to meet back up with Ryan.

When we reach Ryan, he's leaning against a tree, in the same spot we left him, noticing us he turns and steps towards us.

“Just up that hill right there and we will be at the house, let's go.” I say. Not giving him the chance to ask questions, I turn and walk away, but not before catching a glance over to Ace who's entire demeanor has changed into that vicious anger rising in him even in the dark I can see those icy blues disappearing.

I continue to walk up the hill, keeping my breathing even, not wanting to be out of breath when we get to the top in case I need to be ready. I reach for my gun behind my back, wrapping my hand around it, I pull it from the hem of my pants, making sure she is ready to fire, Ace and Ryan doing the same.

Only a few more steps...

I get low and when I pop over the hill, only my head peaks over the crest of the hill, my body laying on the ground, my eyes landing on my cabin. She's not the prettiest, doesn't get the upkeep it should but the bones are good and eventually it would have had a lot more updates bringing it back to her beauty.

The lights are on, I can see men scattered everywhere, ripping my house apart. I see at least fifteen, but I don't see Charles. Ace whispers beside me and my eyes continue to scan, looking through the upper floor window, a silhouette in the room, my eyes lock on to that window. “Top floor, Ace; that's my father, he always checks closets. He would always rip my closets apart if he thought I was hiding something from him.”

Ace looks up to the window and we both watch, before my gaze falls, scanning around to see if there are any men outside beforeI whisper. “I don't see any outside, what's your move, Ace?” I look over to Ace, letting him take the reins from here. I got the Medallion, this is what he's trained for. Ace meets my gaze with a questioning look. “You sure you want to ask me that?” I laugh quietly before I nod and he returns that nod. He reaches up to his ear piece, before he starts telling his men to start moving in.

As a unit we surround my safe house, before we start making our way into the house quietly, sneaking in on the men inside, our men crawling through windows. I follow behind Ace through the side door, gun in hand ready to fire, his gun drawn as well, Ryan behind me, watching our backs. We creep inside and one of my father's men walks around a corner at the same time. Ace quickly fires a shot, the bullet landing between his eyes, the silencer on his gun keeps from alerting the house. Ace catches the guard as he goes to fall and quietly lays him on the floor, before meeting my gaze as I give him a playful but sinful smirk. “One down.”

He smiles before his gaze falls, scanning the room. The sound of a struggle comes from the living room. “They know we're here now. I have to get Charles.”

“Emma, wait, he's cornered upstairs.” Ace snaps and I shake my head. “I'm not waiting.” Red is all I see in my vision, the fear of my father getting away over taking me and I bolt.

Staying close to the walls, moving quickly up the stairs, staying out of sight as the commotion downstairs breaks out, furniture breaking, glass breaking, the sounds of struggle, the gun shots, it all rings in my ears but fuels the fire to find my father.

Getting to the door of the room he was last in, I wait, listening for movement. I open the door slowly, my gun raised, finger over the trigger, my heart is racing in my chest. I try to keep my breathing calm as the door opens and I am met with the end of my father's gun barrel raised and pointedat my head.

My gun is already up, aiming at his head when my eyes lock with his, a sinful smirk playing on my lips, before he says. “I've underestimated you.” The words come out in a whisper but with pure venom. “Yes you have.”

Three of my father's men come out of the shadows, holding their aim on me, but I don't back down. I stare into my father's eyes. All the hate, the pain I endured from this bastard; I'm ready for this, even if I don't make it out of here.

Hearing several footsteps behind me, my eyes darted over, seeing Ace, Ryan, and three of our men step behind me with guns raised. No one is backing down, a standoff between us all, but my eyes stay strained on my fathers as I grit my teeth and his silence breaks. “You won't do it. You won't kill anyone, you're too weak.” I cock brow, my words full of a dangerous but playful tone. “Oh? I think Rocco would feel different about that. I think the question I should be asking is, are you ready to meet the Devil father?”

“You kill me, you're all dead, so make your move.”

With my eyes locked on my fathers, I take a step closer, touching my forehead to the tip of his gun barrel before my words seeth from my lips. “I'll kiss the Devil himself when he opens the doors to welcome me in; I'm not scared to die, are you?”

ACE

My eyes widened with her comment.Don't give up on me now, Baby Girl.

I knew she wasn't okay and as much as I tried to believe her, I couldn't. She has prepared herself to die, to get her father at the cost of her own life and I will not allow it.

I watch her face to face with her father, surrounded by men with guns drawn, not even the least reluctant by it, not a hint of fear in her, her shoulders are back and proud. But I have to get her out of this situation, but how, I've got guns drawn on me, and mine is strained on Charles, not giving a fuck who is pointing a gun at me. I need my secret weapon.

The metal of my gun gripped tightly in my hand pointed at Charles, ready to just end this right here and now but I wait. The deafening silence fills the air around us. Emma hasn't moved a muscle, her blackened eyes piercing Charles’ with the end of his gun barrel pressed against her forehead, challenging Charles to make a move, but he doesn't.

A static noise comes over my ear piece, before I hear the voice of my weapon. “I'm here.” Only communicating with Bear, my weapon, through my right ear. Emma and my men in my left ear. His voice whispers out again. “Blink twice if you're ready.”

I am ready, I am ready to take my girl home and get this fucking over with, so I take in a deep breath, keeping my shoulders heavy and even, not alerting a change, before I blink twice, and wait.

In a matter of seconds a woosh sound, sounds out the same time my arm reaches up, gripping Emma's shoulder, I yank her down to the ground. Charles' hand explodes from my secret weapon, Bear, my snipper, hiding in the woods.

I flip the table beside me up, giving me cover as I throw myself on Emma's body, pinning her under me as the gunshots break out. Charles' men shoot at my men, my men shoot at them, and Emma and I are in the middle of it as the bullets fly over our heads.

“What the fuck!” She snaps and I shoot her a playful wink before my eyes snap up, seeing one of Charles' guards behind the bed, not paying any attention to the clear shot he has on us both, so I take my chance. I throw my gun up and squeeze the trigger, the bullet hitting where I aim, right between the eyes as he slumps to the floor and the blood pours from his head.

My gaze falls on Charles who is now starting to get up, holding his arm that's now missing a hand, blood sprays from the pressure of his racing pulse, Emma wiggles under me. “Don't let him get away! Get off me!” I will not let her up, she will stay under me until there are no more shots being fired above our heads, so I take aim on Charles and shoot out both of his knees, making him collapse on the floor. An agonizing cry barks from his throat and Emma giggles under me as she says. “Don't kill him now, you'll ruin all my fun.” She laughs and I shake my fucking head. “You're enjoying this too much, Baby Girl.”
