Josh buried his fingers in Donnell’s chest hair, and their lips met. Poker was apparently done for the night, so Donnell grabbed two handfuls of Josh’s perfect ass and pressed him closer. But he immediately grew frustrated with the stupid clothes they were still wearing.
“I should’ve lost a few hands,” Donnell muttered.
“Who cares?” Josh asked as he tackled Donnell’s belt. Too close to the edge for any patience, Donnell brushed his mate’s hands out of the way and took care of the task himself. Seconds later, he flung his pants, boxers, and socks to the carpet.
Josh gave him a killer smile as he dragged his own underwear off. Although Donnell had envisioned a long night of poker and seduction, restraint would have to wait. He and his bear needed Josh. Mindful of their size difference, Donnell grasped both of their rigid cocks in one big paw and jacked them with intent.
With his back already arching, Josh groaned Donnell’s name and dug his fingers into the bear’s pectorals as he jerked his hips rapidly without a hint of his usual grace. Donnell enjoyed the sparks along his spine and the heaviness in his balls. He was close. But Josh needed to come first.
Donnell tightened his fist and wasn’t surprised as his fangs elongated. His bear was fond of marking his territory. Instinctively, Josh bared his throat, and Donnell didn’t hesitate. He sank his teeth into Josh’s tender flesh, and his climax roared through him. His bear filled his head with an exclamation of triumph as Josh’s seed splashed onto Donnell’s fingers.
Being with a sorcerer had many benefits, including the immediate cleanup of any mess with a quick spell. Grateful for Josh, Donnell tugged the exhausted man into his arms and held him tenderly.
“I could teach you a few finer points of poker if you want,” Donnell said against Josh’s ear as he dropped little kisses on his heated skin.
“You get me, Donnell, I’d love that. I think I’ll need the entire night to get through your lessons.”
“Maybe even the whole weekend.”
Josh found Donnell’s mouth and kissed him softly. “Yes. Absolutely. All fuckity weekend. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Chapter 7
With a jaw-cracking yawn, the Aqua Superus sat heavily on his bed for the weekend. The water elemental at his side flopped onto the mattress and stretched his cute teddy bear limbs out to their fullest.
“How can you be tired?” Josh asked Dylan.
The elemental ignored him and closed his eyes.
“If he wants to take a nap, let him,” Donnell advised as he settled on the chair opposite them.
“Fine, but I had like maybe three hours of sleep, and you don’t see me taking a nap.”
Donnell smiled, and Josh nearly sighed at the bear’s beauty. How one man could be so handsome, kind, caring, and wonderful Josh didn’t know, but he continued to thank Fate for meeting his perfect match.
“Those poker lessons were intense,” Donnell remarked.
Fondly remembering the way he’d been ass up and full of Donnell’s dick as the sun rose, Josh grinned. “Yeah.”
“But something is bothering you that has nothing to do with poker lessons or our lack of sleep.”
Putting his palm over a mark on his skin he’d once foolishly hidden from Donnell, Josh lifted his gaze to the bear’s and grimaced. “I don’t know why Fate puts things on me. Atnineteen, she made me Aqua Superus. Everyone knows I didn’t want it at first, which was stupid because my element needed the most help.”
“Is something going on within the Circle of Mages?” Donnell asked.
Needing comfort, Josh rose and climbed onto Donnell’s lap. The bear immediately held him close and pressed a kiss to his tattooed temple.
“No, the Coven of Warlocks,” Josh muttered.
“What do you mean?”
“A year after I discovered I was a hybrid, Fate put a second mark on my skin. Obviously, I already knew that someday I’d have a warlock familiar, even if Fate didn’t put it there, because Dra’Kaedan could help me summon him. How many years have passed, Donnell? He’s still waiting and trapped inside me when he could have a life of his own.”
“Joshua, it’s not that easy. You had to learn about being a warlock and study magic. Everything you’ve learned is now his knowledge too. If you’d summoned him immediately, the two of you would both have to work hard to gain the same information. That’s foolish.”
Cupping Donnell’s jaw, Josh kissed him softly. “I get it, but I’ve read countless books and know all kinds of shit. Why have I been such a twitwad and kept him caged?”
