“Stop trying to steal my mate,” Zane fired back.

“Speaking of Tiri, I must go get to know him better,” Dra’Kaedan announced as he stood.

Saura rose as well and looped her arm through her son’s. “I agree, he needs to know exactly what it means to be a D’Vaire.”

“Don’t be too nice to him, I want to keep him,” Zane called out after them as they strode from the room. The pair did nothing but laugh as they sauntered away.

“If Tiri packs his shit, I’m filing a report with the fallen knights. Then I’m moving in since you can’t deny me entry while my man is here.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll send him home. The dragons need you to protect our incredible new emperor,” Aleksander said.

Chrysander was delighted that Ellery was popular with the D’Vaire king. He hoped that the other dragons were as pleased with Fate’s choice. With time to learn, Ellery could be a great asset to the Council. Chrysander just hoped he had that time.
