“I like that you call me Ell.”

“I like how good you look today.”

“I really want to see your butt in those jeans.”

With a grin, Chrysander let go of his hand and went down the stairs ahead of him. Ellery’s brow lifted of its own accord. His dragon had a fine ass, and it was showcased well in the faded denim. When Ellery got to the bottom of the steps, Chrysander entwined their fingers. “Well, worth the wait?”

“Definitely, very nice.”

“I have a feeling I’m going to need a gallon or two of coffee to keep up with you today.”

“Coffee. Yes, I would love some.”

They turned the corner and found their whole family in the kitchen staring at them expectantly. Ellery glanced up at Chrysander, who just rolled his eyes. “What?” Chrysander demanded.

“Oh, just counting earrings,” Damian drawled.

Ellery tried not to blush as he thought about just how he got that second hoop.

“Fine, I’ll make some coffee while you count to two,” Chrysander retorted.

“Oh heck no, you suck at making coffee,” Costas shot back. “Besides we already have a pot ready. We know how badly Ellery’s addicted.”

Unrepentant for his love of the beverage, Ellery crossed the space to grab a mug. Once he had a piping hot cup of java in his hand, he sucked half of it down in one gulp.

“I’ll order breakfast,” Damian said.

“What’s the plan for today? We literally have nothing on the schedule for the entire week until Friday when we head to D’Vaire, so Ellery can shift on Saturday,” Zane asked.

Ellery ignored the way Chrysander’s jaw clenched at the mention of his shift. He wasn’t going to argue with him over his fear of him dying. Chrysander would find out with the rest that someday he was going to spread wings of his own.

“I was thinking we could take Ell and Tiri to the ocean. I figured that was one thing they had yet to see,” Chrysander suggested.

“Oh, I would like that very much,” Tiri said as he clutched Zane’s arm in excitement.

“Ell?”

“That sounds great, I would love to see the ocean.”

Chrysander pressed their lips together in a brief kiss, then returned to his coffee. “Wonderful, we can go after we finish eating. You guys will want to bring an extra set of clothing, so you don’t have to stay in wet pants.”

“Do you even own any swimming trunks?” Zane demanded of Damian. “I don’t want you parading around in front of Tiri, wearing those tiny-ass briefs that barely contain your junk.”

Damian’s grin was evil. “I could leave them home and wear nothing.”

“That’s not happening,” Chrysander stated. “If you don’t have a normal swimsuit, you’ll have to borrow from someone.”

“I’m going to go grab the food, and I have a freaking pair of trunks.”

Ellery and Tiri dug out the silverware and napkins while the three dragons in the room laid out plates and made sure everyone had a drink. Once Damian returned and they were seated enjoying their breakfast, Chrysander asked, “Would anyone like to explain why Ell walked into our sitting room this morning to find Wesley standing there?”

“What the fu—freak? We had an argument this morning because I told him to put it on your desk in the office. He was adamant that you never use that one, and he wanted to be sure you got it. I told him the best I could do was let him go up and slide it under the da—door,” Damian explained, his stunning face infuriated.

“The second and third floors need to be off-limits to everyone but family,” Costas said.

“I agree, and we’re going to have less people traipsing through here for events,” Chrysander responded. Ellery offered him a grateful smile.

“I hope you set Wesley straight,” Damian demanded, clearly still annoyed.
