“Right, so I was thinking since you have that lovely velvet headboard, we should go with something sleeker when we add the red. Perhaps a silk? The duvet could be black dragonskin and red silk?”
Delaney had an image of fucking Grigori on red silk and shifted slightly on his seat to ease the pressure of his dick against his zipper. It made the vibrating plug in his ass settle more fully against his prostate. In that moment, Delaney decided Grigori could handle this damn meeting. The only thing he was capable of doing was trying not to embarrass himself by grasping the edges of the table and bouncing in his chair until his balls emptied.
“That sounds really nice, doesn’t it?”
“Whatever you want.” Delaney meant the words in every single aspect in which they could be taken. If he had his way, he’d climb right into Grigori’s lap and they would fuck until they were both screaming. His brain truly was only capable of contemplating sex acts and positions.
“What happened to ‘I’m the big badass dark wizard who doesn’t need shit from nobody’?” Duff asked.
Delaney scraped up the last vestiges of his thinking mind while everything inside him roared for completion. “Look, Duff, that’s a bunch of bullshit. I applied to live at a sanctuary because I know I need people. I didn’t have them growing up, and I wanted a family. I have one now, along with a mate. I’ve never said I don’t need people nor have I referred to myself as some badass wizard.”
“Duff, give the guy a break. He and Grigori are planning their future,” Carter interjected.
“Roses somewhere,” Delaney threw out with a wave of his free hand. He was not going to bother with Duff. He had enough problems, and all of them centered on the damn vampire who’d upped the vibration in his ass. It was a subtle shift but completely discernable to his aching dick and desperate little nerve endings.
“You’re acting really fucking weird,” Duff said.
“We’ve already established that he’s tired,” Idris stated. “Now let’s stay focused. What else did you have in mind, Larissa?”
“I was thinking of adding a red silk swag for the curtains and adding some embroidered roses onto the black velvet already there. I was thinking of doing it in black though, because I don’t want it to be too feminine or fussy.”
“I like that idea. We’ll have red roses already. Dravyn’s growing my favorite black magic variety,” Grigori said.
“Black magic variety?” Duff asked.
“It’s a type of red rose, and it’s always been Grigori’s favorite,” Idris informed him.
“Oh,please.” The shifter muttered almost under his breath but loud enough that they all heard. Not that Delaney gave two shits—he had a death grip on his own thigh just so he didn’t rock in his chair.
“We can change out some of the throw pillows on the bed and sofa to add more red. We’ll add in some other textures and patterns, so the room keeps its rich, elegant depth,” Larissa said.
“It’s a room full of black. What’s elegant about that?” Duff asked.
Ignoring him, Grigori asked, “Do you think your mate could make us some metal stuff? I was thinking of a vase for the flowers?”
“Sure, and I think we should see if we can locate at least one area rug with some red in it to replace one of the two already in there. Either in the sitting area or near the bed. What do you think?”
Delaney wanted to shout that the only concern he had about the bed was that he wasn’t currently in it, but he just nodded.
Grigori grinned at him, winked, and returned his attention to Larissa. “Sounds perfect.”
“Great, did you guys want to talk about anything else?” Larissa asked.
“No, I do think Delsaurus is looking very tired. I’m going to get him to lie down for a while, so he’s more himself at dinner.”
Delaney stood so fast, his chair nearly fell backward. It was only Idris’s quick grab that saved it. “Yep, gotta go. Thanks, Larissa.”
Grigori rose in a more leisurely fashion, then kissed his mouth softly. “Ready for a nap?”
“You’re damn right I am.”
Idris laughed as Delaney allowed Grigori to lead him out of Larissa’s workshop. Delaney was ready to sprint back to their bedroom, but of course his vampire set a leisurely pace. Content to handle a few more minutes of torture, Delaney followed him down the hall and tried not to whine out his need.
Chapter 26
As soon as Grigori got Delaney alone again, he backed him up against the door and slid his tongue into his welcoming mouth. He turned off the vibrator in his ass, so they could tease each other more before the main event. Delaney reached around and grabbed two handfuls of Grigori’s shirt as he ground against him.
Grigori ended their kiss and traced his lips down his jaw and nipped his neck. He couldn’t wait to bury his fangs in him. It had nothing to do with the nourishment Delaney would sustain his life with, but the primal need for his mate.
