“Oh yes, I think you’re right. I’m still feeling pretty dirty.”
Faith squeezed his hand as they walked, hand-in-hand. Kurse shuddered.
“Oh baby, I guess I’ll have to clean you right up then. With my mouth.”
Faith laughed again, leaning into his arm. They walked in the dark, silently, reveling in each other's touch for a few minutes. Faith could not believe that this was happening to her. She never thought that she would be so happy.
“I only ask of you one thing, Faith.”
Kurse stopped on the sidewalk and turned to her. Faith looked at him, appearing grim and serious.
“And what would that be?”
Kurse raised his arm high in the air. “Can we get a place with ceilings at least this high? I don’t really want to be bashing myself around every day.”
Faith’s face melted into a smile. This demon was incredible, and he was all hers.
She kissed him softly. “I think that’s something we can arrange.”

KURSE
It was time for the wedding, and it was Kurse’s duty to pick up Faith’s parents from the airport. Kurse and Faith had purchased a giant Ford Sedan that he could use and still feel comfortable. He learned to drive a few months ago and wanted to show off to his new in-laws that he was a capable demon.
Things got a bit bumpy on the ride there, though, with Kurse not understanding how airports worked and the fact that you had to take so many turns in order to finally park. He saw Charles and Linda waiting for him, so he leapt out of the car and grabbed their bags for them.
“Hello, mom and dad!” Kurse screamed.
Charles jumped slightly, then pointed up and down at Kurse.
“They actually make clothes this size?”
Kurse looked down at himself. He was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt—a look he had admired after watching a few James Dean movies. He pulled on the t-shirt.
“Yeah, we had them specially made from that ‘big and tall’ company Faith found. It got too cold in the winter for me to be running around in that loincloth!”
Kurse chuckled as he tossed their bags into the back of his car. The space was massive and allowed multiple people to ride with him if needed. He helped Linda and Charles into the back seat and drove off.
Kurse immediately went over a speed bump too quickly, sending Linda into the air. She banged her head slightly on the ceiling but landed with laughter.
“Oh my god, Linda! I’m so sorry!”
Kurse bellowed as he continued driving. Linda, however, was only rubbing her head and continued giggling.
“It’s honestly fine Kurse, I just hadn’t buckled myself in yet!”
The three burst out laughing, which made Kurse relax. He didn’t want them to dislike him, even though Faith said that it didn’t matter to her. They had accepted their invitation to the wedding, of course, so that in itself must have meant something.
They arrived at Jerry’s place, and Kurse guided them into the back. He didn’t need to say much to Jerry, who climbed off his stool to shake Kurse’s hand.
“The Oracle was right then, Kurse.” His hand was bony and small, so Kurse did his best not to break it. He thought he might with the amount of excitement that was running through his body.
“Thank you, Jerry! These are my new parents, Charles and Linda Rogers.”
They stepped forward and nodded, Charles shaking Jerry’s hand. Jerry’s face lit up as he looked at Linda. He offered his hand, and she placed hers into his. Jerry kissed it lightly. Kurse watched as Charles’ face grew redder and redder.
“Anyway, Jerry, we should be going! The ceremony is in a few hours, so we’re off!” Kurse grabbed Charles and Linda by the hands and passed through the curtain. They spun off into his home world, landing just outside where the reception would take place.
