“Depends,” he said, pretending to think about it. “How much?”
“Not much. I’ll work for snacks and sexual favors.”
“Vaden!” he gasped before falling against my chest in a fit of giggles. “You are the worst.”
“So, is that a no on the snacks?”
“Stop it,” he said between bouts of laughter.
Gods, he was adorable, and I was one lucky bastard to be able to call him mine.
Wrapping my arms more securely around him, I pressed a kiss to the top of his head. His laughter lingered, warm and bright, his breath hitching as he tried to regain composure.
“Fine,” I murmured, brushing my thumb across the back of his neck. “We can forget the snacks.”
He sat up to look me in the eye, his mouth quirked into a playful grin. “You’re a terrible negotiator.”
“Or maybe I’m just hopelessly in love.”
His gaze softened, and he leaned in, whispering our lips together in barely-there kisses. “I love you, too. Always.”
“Always,” I echoed, palming the back of his head and sealing my mouth over his.
Neither of us could be certain what the future would bring, but for now, in this one moment, the world outside could wait.
