“My wife,” Liam breathed, sinking back into her in one long, heavy roll of his hips. “Forever, Jamison. You’re going to stand under that oaktree and swear to be—fuck,” his breath caught as he filled her completely, “you feel so good.”

Absolutely wild for him, she held on tight when he pumped into her like a man possessed—sharp, fast, feral—he took her savagely. All control lost, his moans filled the room, the sound holding a whisper of agony as he truly let himself go.

“I’m going to come so fucking hard.” His voice shook from the heavy pounding he was giving her, the limits to his sanity snapping one by one. “Are you going to take it?”

She opened her legs wider, allowing him to do whatever he wanted—take her as hard as he wanted. She was completely his, deliciously at his mercy. “Yes.”

“Are you going to be my wife?” He never paused in his rhythm, his gaze locked on her parted lips. “Today?”

“Yes.” She was already crying again, her body bouncing hard under him. “Yes!”

“Rightfuckingno—” His voice broke, the words cut off by a shout. Pushing up on one arm, he pressed her thigh aside so he could watch her squeeze around him as he spilled into her. “You take me so fucking good. God,toogood… toofuckinggood.”

She couldn’t form words, not when her whole body was convulsing again with a second orgasm, not when he was falling apart above her, swearing and filling her with everything he had.

“I’m marrying you right now. Rightfuckingnow,” he whispered, his body shaking from the pleasure rolling through him. “I will not greet another sunrise without you as my wife.”

She pulled him down on top of her, needing his warmth. When his thrusts turned shallow, they kissed—slow, lingering kisses, messy from tears and sheer exhaustion. His hand cupped her face, his thumb stroking her bottom lip. “I meant what I said,” he whispered. “Today, Jamison.”

“Hmm?” She was melting into him, boneless and dazed. “Today?”

“Not another sunrise.” His fingers trailed from her jaw to the neckline of her gown. “I hope the dress isn’t too wrinkled, but, really, who cares? Let’s go.”

“Go wher—” She didn’t finish. He was already up, leaving her empty and sprawled on the floor as he tugged on hispants. “Liam?”

“I have one rule,” he said, snatching up his phone. “No underwear. I want you completely naked under that dress.”

She snorted. “That’s kind of kinky, and I like it, but you can’t be serious about this whole before sunrise thing.”

He was already dialing. “Hey, Abe. You’re up? No? Well, you’re up now. Do you still have the ceremony you wrote for me and Jamison? Yes, our wedding ceremony. Can you print it and meet us under the Marriage Oak? Yep, right now. Cool. I’ll start waking everyone up.”

“Waking everyone…” She scrambled to a sitting position. “Liam!”

He smirked as he made another call. “Hey, fucker. Get over here. I’m marrying your sister in half an hour and need a best man. No, I don’t care what time it is. You’ll survive. See, Evie’s up, and I hear the girls. Yep, that’s right, Theo. Unc is going to be Uncle, so get your dad up.”

She stared at him, the shock and excitement growing. “Really? Right this very second?”

“You should probably pull your skirt down first, but yeah.” He crossed the room and dropped to one knee, his grin softer now. “Jamison Scarlett Fairweather, will you marry me right this very second?”

“It won’t be legal.”

“It will be when we march our asses down to the licensing office the second they open.”

She laughed through her tears. “Are you sure?”

“Why not?” He stood and took her hands in his. “Life is about to go back to normal, and when it does, we’ll have to work around everyone’s schedules, which will delay the wedding, and we’ll have to wait again.

“I don’t want to wait.”

“I don’t either. I’m done waiting. I feel like I’ve been waiting my whole life to make you mine, and I’m not going to wait any longer.”

“Okay.” She nodded, then threw her arms around him, giddy and glowing. “Let’s get married.”

Chapter 48

“They really stole the journals?”

“It’s more like they borrowed them, made copies, and ran.”
