She smiled, her body warming at his statement. “I was hoping you’d say that.” She paused when she heard what sounded like rustling sheets. “Are you in bed already?”
He hesitated. “Yes, are you?”
The thought of him in bed more than piqued her interest, but she had a few things to think about first. Walking back to the foyer, she grabbed her bag, then started up the ridiculous—though gorgeously—ornate floating staircase to the second floor.
“How do you sleep?” she asked as she walked.
He hesitated again. “What do you mean?”
“I know you slept in your boxers and a T-shirt when we were on the plane, but what about when you’re alone? Still boxers?”
“Uh, no. I’m a naked sleeper.”
A feral grin curved across her face. “Yeah? So, if you were to reach down and touch yourself, there’d be nothing to get in the way of your hand wrapping around your cock?”
A small groan escaped him. “Cyn.”
She dropped her bag and sat down on the bench at the end of her bed. “How about I help you get a good night’s sleep?” There was more rustling of the sheets and she suspected he already had himself well in hand. A jolt of lust shot through her at the image her mind created, and she gave serious consideration to being able to do what she wanted to do for Joe without getting off herself.
“Is your hand fisted around yourself?” she asked.
“Yes. Fuck, yes,” he said.
She smiled at the needy demand in his voice. Laying back on her bed, she started talking. “Picture me on my knees in front of you,” she said. “I’m going to lick you and taste you everywhere before I take you deep in my mouth and suck you off.”
His breathing increased as she continued talking him through what had to be the hottest non-blow job she’d ever given. When she finally told him how much she wanted to taste him, feel him, coming in her mouth, he came, growling her name as he did. The image of him, his back bowed, his hand gripping his cock, and a look of painful pleasure on his face, made her cross her legs. She still had work to do, but damned if she wasn’t going to get one of her toys out when she crawled into bed.
When his breathing settled into a steady rhythm, he spoke with a sleepy voice. “I can’t wait to make that fantasy a reality.”
Neither could she, but she suspected if she said so, Joe might start rising to the occasion—so to speak—again and that would defeat the purpose of helping him get a good night’s sleep.
“Tomorrow,” she promised.
He let out a low chuckle. “Tomorrow,” he promised before they ended the call.
Cyn set her phone down and stared at her bag. It held the USB Meleak had left her as well as printouts of the four images. She glanced at her bed then back to her bag. With a sigh, she unzipped the side pocket, pulled the USB out, and headed up to the third floor.

“Let’s recap everything we know about McElroy,” Nora said. The four of them were sitting in Cyn’s kitchen, eating cheese and crackers and drinking wine. She’d filled them in on everything she and Joe had discovered, including the name of the man McElroy had met with that Meleak had caught on camera. Her facial recognition system had gotten a hit while she’d slept, and she’d forwarded it on to Mac. He’d been none too pleased to know that one of his soldiers had been meeting a man who was responsible for identifying potential recruits for Al-Shabaab.
“Twenty-one-year-old white male,” Six started but didn’t get any farther than that because Joe walked into the room at that moment. Cyn had let him through the gates a few minutes earlier and had told him to come on in, but even anticipating his arrival, she wasn’t quite prepared for the laser focus he turned on her the second he rounded the corner to the kitchen.
His gaze swept over the other women, but then, as if they weren’t there, he walked straight to her, slipped his hands into her hair on either side of her face and kissed her. Not a chaste or subtle kiss, but a deep, intense, intimate one. Startled, she didn’t object, although, in her memory, she couldn’t recalleverkissing a guy in front of her friends other than a quick peck.
Slowly, he ended their connection and looked at her. He smiled and his dimple showed again. She couldn’t help the smile she returned.
“I’ve been thinking about doing that all day long,” he said.
Her smiled widened. “Hopefully that’s not all you’ve been thinking about.”
Nora cleared her throat. He smiled back at Cyn, dropped one more kiss on her lips, then stepped away. “Ladies. Always a pleasure to see you,” he said.
“Obviously not quite as much a pleasure as seeing Cyn,” Six said with a grin and a wink.
“No offense, but that’s true,” he said, taking the beer Cyn had retrieved from the fridge for him. When they were both seated, Cyn gestured for Six to continue.
“We were listing out everything we know about McElroy,” Nora said in explanation to Joe.
