I wake up as the sun starts to shine, to the form of a man under me. I can’t help the smile that forms on my face. I lost track of how many orgasms we shared throughout the night. Luke’s arms cradle me as my head rests on his chest and my leg is thrown over his thigh.A girl could get used to his.

Instinctually, I trace the planes of his chest and feel the light dusting of hair slip under my fingers. Without any sign of movement, I’m startled when his sexy morning voice rumbles against my face, “I need sustenance, woman, if you're going to start that up again.”

I can't help but laugh. “Okay. Okay. What are you making me today?” I tease. “Our last breakfast is pretty hard to beat.”

He glides his hand along my back, making me shiver. “I might have something up my sleeve,” he quips.

Unfortunately, eating means having to move. As I pull myself off him, I'm gloriously sore. My muscles ache in places I’d forgotten existed. What did this man do to me?

Luke walks in all his naked glory to his dresser and pulls out a pair of boxers and t-shirt. With a wink, he tosses the t-shirt to me and slips on the boxers. I pull his soft cotton shirt over my head, and I can’t help but inhale slowly as his scent washes over me. The shirt hangs to mid-thigh and although I wish I had a clean pair of underwear, I have little intention of wearing clothes for long. This will have to do.

Soon my mouth waters from the savory flavors lofting through the room. Though watching Luke’s sexy body as he maneuvers his way through making an omelet for us to share might have something to do with it. I force myself to keep from ogling by keeping a steady flow of conversation.

“So… Where’d you learn to cook so well?” I ask after I take the first delicious bite. I hadn’t known how hungry I was until I started eating.Damn. This man can cook.I quickly take another bite as I await his answer.

Luke rolls his eyes. “Well… Don’t get your hopes up. You’ve basically experienced my culinary expertise.”

“Hmmm,” I moan as I finish another savory bite. “Do you make house calls?” I tease.

“Ha…” He chuckles and looks out the window. “I’m usually well into my workout by this time of the day. I can’t say I’ve had much time for house calls.”

As I take in his sculpted form and remember yesterday morning. “Is running typically your thing?”

“I’ve kept to a strict regimen for as long as I can remember.” He’s quiet for a moment then adds, “Hell, I don’t even know when I started training rigorously.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, I guess as far back as middle school, when I dreamed of playing professionally, I’ve taken my training seriously. My coach had us meeting up for optional workouts each morning before school.”

“How long did you play professionally?” I might not be into sports, but after spending time with Luke, it’s obvious it’s been a big part of his life.

“Just one season. But I’ve coached for the past six, and I have the philosophy of never asking my players to do something I won’t do myself.”

That’s impressive. He must be a great coach. “That’s honorable.”

In response, he shrugs it off as if it’s not a big deal. Interesting. It appears Luke may be an athlete, but not one who’s overly cocky. Just add one more thing to the growing list of qualities I like about him.

Crap. I’m not supposed to be making a list. Remember… this is casual.I repeat as I busy myself with eating until he breaks the silence.

“So, what are your plans today?” When I look up from my plate, I can’t help but be captured by his deep-blue eyes. For a second, I think this might be a hint that I should get going. Yet, on further inspection, I see he’s genuinely interested.

“My days consist of working on edits or my next book.” Disappointment passes through his features, and I quickly add, “What are yours?”

He lets out a low sigh. “Well… I should probably get some work done, too. But… would you want to take a ride on the Sound? I’d like to take my boat out and would love the company.”

I look to my computer bag I’d left in the living room. Knowing there’s a shit ton of work I have to do, I compromise with myself. “What if…”How much would I need to do to stay on track?“What if we work for a bit this morning, then go out later this afternoon.”

A knowing grin spreads across Luke’s face. “I think I can manage that.” Luke’s voice is deeper than before, and his eyes darken. He looks me over from head to toe before adding, “Do you want to work here?”

I look down to the t-shirt I’m wearing and shake my head. “Eventually, I’ll need a change of clothes…” His hungry stare has me stopping in my tracks, and I’m certain it has nothing to do with the food.

“I’m sure that can be arranged.” His voice is rough as he stands and reaches out for my hand. When his fingers grasp mine, electric currents pulse through me.

Suddenly, I have no intentions of working on anything but him.
