Liam:Welcome home, I wish I were there with you.
Audrey: You’re adorable.
Liam: I prefer the term thoughtful, adorable sounds like a little puppy.
Audrey: A lap puppy?
Liam:If I recall, you’re the one who likes to be on laps, riding my cock.
Audrey:Whoa, when did this go from texting to sexting?
Liam:I can go however you want, baby, just tell me what you want me to do.
Audrey:Compose yourself because I am in the limo and my brother is here. I can’t believe you sent him along.
Liam:Need him to be in the San Diego branch while I’m here, you think I’ll just stay at the bookstore?
Audrey:I thought you would.
Liam:Nope. I’ll be working extra hours and managing both places.
Audrey: Don’t overwork yourself.
Liam:The plan is to get this done fast so I can be with you soon. Which means, I have to leave you. It’s time to convince Mom that the bookstore needs her, at least until we can hire employees.
Audrey:Good luck, Talk to you soon, Lee.
Chapter Thirty-Two
Liam:Good morning, sunshine. First morning without you—and counting.
Audrey:It’s five in the morning. A little too early don’t you think?
Liam:In my defense I waited three hours.
Audrey:And yet, I’m not amused. I need one more hour of sleep.
Liam:I’ll be in back to back meetings, hence why I had to message younow. Talk to you soon?
Audrey:Good luck in your meetings.
Audrey:You got me breakfast? All my favorites. I’m not sure what to tell you.
Liam:Tradition says thank you is the best response.
Audrey: You’re not funny.
Liam:And I can’t be messaging right now, talk to you soon.
Chapter Thirty-Three
Audrey
I step into my apartment, exhaustion weighing heavily on my shoulders. As I hang my purse by the hook next to the door, I’m surprised to see not only my brother Max, who’s staying with me while he’s in San Diego but also my parents.
I glare at my brother, wondering why they’re here. I know it’s not aboutLiam because we just texted while I was climbing the stairs. He’s at the bookstore right now trying to figure out a way to keep the store open while renovating the place.
He’s crazy if he thinks that can be done, but I’ll let him figure out that he’s wrong on his own.
