“Mine. My mate. Take it.”

Dash held Aiden’s narrow hips steady, lined himself up, and shoved in to the hilt. Aiden grunted at the unpleasant intrusion, face red and sweaty while holding still on trembling legs. Dash had enough presence of mind to reach around and stroke his lover’s cock, helping distract him from the temporary discomfort. Seconds ticked past until Aiden’s hole relaxed, and he pushed back against Dash’s groin. That was the signal to thrust, and the aroused shifter embraced his urgent need to mate.

Nowthey were in the zone, growls and moans mixed with the sound of slapping flesh. Aiden knew this couldn’t last for long, not when Dash was on a hair trigger. Sure enough, he huffed in time with his thrusts, faster and faster, until his dick thickened and Aiden clamped down on the tumescent intruder. Warm seed filled the nooks and crannies of Aiden’s abused channel as Dash went up on tiptoes to get in as far as possible.

As the pulses slowed to a stop, Dash reached up and around to caress the mating scars marking Aiden’s chest. His bear rumbled in approval, as the scars represented their connection—a bond he’d never expected to have again. He figured it would differ from the one he’d shared with Harv, and it did. Aiden’s lack of ursine senses meant more questions and discussion to understand his needs. Even so, Dash learned something new about his mate nearly every day, treasuring all the little things that made him special.

Purring and sated for the moment, Dash breathed in their mixed scents with deep satisfaction and pulled out carefully. Aiden hadn’t cum with their coupling; a situation he intended to remedy forthwith. Dash turned him around, long tongue wrapping itself around the man’s erection, first pulling and teasing, then licking and sucking.

Aiden’s slender-fingered hands wrapped themselves around Dash’s head, flexing and kneading as the climax approached. Dash felt him tense, then watched his toes curl before suddenly spurting down his throat. The sweet and salty taste was addictive, much like the man himself, and Dash savored the essence that was unquestionably his alone to enjoy. Still clutching Dash’s head, Aiden swayed slightly while his senses returned.

“Come up here and kiss me, love.”

Dash complied; unable to resist Aiden’s commands even during mating season. They stood skin to skin, naked andunashamed in the middle of the kitchen while their mouths dueled for control. There was something undeniablynaughtyabout making love here, as if the location made any quantifiable difference. Whatever the reason, it added a bit of spice to the proceedings, and they relished the building heat.

Dash’s cock soon flared back to life. Aiden chuckled, playing with the foreskin as they made out until the growly bear needed to take his mate again. He scooped Aiden up, carrying him to the bedroom for the next round or two. When the mating drive finally eased up, Dash prepared a late supper, washed and dried his mate, and held him close until morning.

Chapter 18

The next day

Aiden got off to a late but pleasurable start. Dash had awakened him early for sex, sparing his tender hole for some intercrural action instead. Afterward, he gave Dash a sloppy blow job and finally a soapy wank in the shower. His mate was working from home today, and Aiden sent him to his basement office with a satisfied smile.

Though it promised to be another slow Tuesday as usual, he intended to keep the crew busy performing the deep cleaning he’d announced yesterday, while he made more Bear Snax for his shifter customers. Aiden pulled into the alley behindDeliciousand did a double take when he saw the back wall of the shop.

Graffiti marred the light brown bricks with black spray paint; ugly words in huge letters that no one could miss: LIAR, TRAITOR, THIEF, ASSHOLE. Aiden’s gut clenched. Nearly six weeks had passed since the internet cable incident, and Aiden secretly hoped it was the last one. No such luck. He parked the car and scanned up and down the length of the alley as he approached the building. Following the Deputy Sheriff’s advice, Aiden took out his phone and snapped several photos. Just to be sure, he looked at the utility lines at the far end of the building but saw nothing amiss.

Instead of going inside, Aiden made two phone calls—one to the Sheriff’s office, and the other to Dash. His mate arrived first, ignoring the building until he was satisfied that Aiden was all right. His bear wanted to rend and tear the person responsible, and he wasn’t very subtle about it. Aiden finally calmed him down by the time the Sheriff showed up. He’d been fully briefedby his deputy regarding the past incidents, and the gravity of this escalation showed on his face.

“Have you seen the front of the shop yet?”

The question confused Aiden.

“No, Sir, I always park back here and enter through the rear door. Why?”

The Sheriff grimaced.

“I passed by before coming around to the alley. There’s red paint splashed all over the front of the shop. I assume it’s the same person who did this.”

Aiden’s emotional spike triggered more growling from Dash, and he snaked an arm around his mate’s waist to pull him close. The Sheriff continued.

“Who was the last person here yesterday?”

Aiden expected the question.

“Me. I left the shop a minute or two before six p.m. last night. None of this was here.”

The Sheriff nodded, jotting down the information on a notepad.

“I understand you installed a security system in the building. Was it activated when you left last night?”

“Yes, Sir. The cameras are on twenty-four-seven, and the alarm and flood lights are set whenever the building is empty. Maybe they caught something you can use this time.”

Dash’s excellent hearing noticed someone approaching from behind, and he stepped in front of Aiden to protect him. He growled at the unfamiliar man, but Aiden explained who he was.

“It’s okay, love. This is Gordon. He lives behind the shop, across the alley.”

Gordon nodded at the Sheriff and then gestured to the defaced wall.
