“Those are good questions, Jett, and I promise to answer all of them tomorrow.”
“What? You’re gonna make me wait?Fine. Don’t forget to wake me up for breakfast!”
Two fist bumps later, Jett went upstairs while Knox and Levi wiped the table and took the dishes to the kitchen. Levi paused when they re-entered the living room to admire all the decorations and the beautiful tree. He slipped an arm around Knox’s waist.
“They didn’t have to do all this, you know. I would have been happy just to spend time with them. I thought I was going to miss both holidays, and now... thank you, love.”
Knox pulled him close and kissed him.
“You deserve it. Nothing is too good for my mate.”
They parted long enough to switch off the lights and then climbed the steps hand in hand.
Chapter 12
Itching to get hishands on Levi all day, Knox hustled his mate into the shower. They cleaned each other between kisses, spending more time on some parts than others. Hard and horny, Knox gripped both their cocks together, slicked them with body wash, and stroked to completion. Given the late hour and a desire to be discreet, the shower quickie met the immediate need and would, hopefully, let them sleep.
The pair dried off, finished their bedtime routine, and slipped under the sheets facing one another. Knox asked Levi what the plans were for tomorrow.
“The big Thanksgiving meal will be around one o’clock, and then we’ll exchange gifts later in the afternoon. We might play some board games, too, if there's time, but you can just watch if you want. Things get kind of crazy when we start having fun.”
Knox grunted and then leaned forward to kiss his mate.
“I really like your family and can see why you’ve missed them. I promise we’ll come back to visit as often as you want.”
Levi could easily imagine a future where he and Knox made regular trips back to Ohio.
“Thank you. I feel bad that you aren’t close to your family, yet you’re willing to make sure I see mine. You have a big heart, Knox McCoy.”
Knox turned off the bedside lamp and pulled his mate closer with a happy growl.

Levi awoke, alone.He didn’t find Knox in the bathroom either and wondered what the man was up to. The smell of breakfast cooking provided the most logical explanation for his whereabouts, and Levi grabbed fresh clothes from his duffle bag to get dressed. He heard laughter on his way down the stairs and found Knox and his parents in the kitchen. Knox was stirring a pan full of boiling cranberries while his parents listened to a story. He stopped speaking when Levi entered the kitchen to give him a blistering kiss.
“Good morning, mate. I’m telling mom and dad about the time some humans caught my bear swimming in their pool.”
It pleased Levi to hear Knox calling his parents mom and dad. He wouldn’t have done it unless they insisted, which revealed how they felt about him. Knox continued the story.
“Anyway, they must have thought I was a regular bear, ‘cause pretty soon the lady’s husband came out with a shotgun. I figured he’d be less likely to shoot me if I were human, so I shifted. When she saw a naked stranger in her pool, she called the police, and her husband threatened to shoot me anyway. It was a mess, but I walked away without a scratch.”
Though his parents found it funny, Levi was more worried than amused.
“Knox! I didn’t even know bears liked to swim. Don’t ever do that again.”
