“All done out here, Jo. I couldn’t get rid of some of the stains on the lower wall. You’ll need to paint over those before Robyn comes back to work. Did you find what you needed?”
Jonah waved him in and pulled up the other chair. If it passed muster with RJ, no one at the Sheriff’s office would doubt it either.
“I did. Take a look.”
RJ winced as the silent, frightening encounter played out on the screen.
“The nasty SOB deserved it. Where did Robyn learn to defend herself?”
Jonah hated lying to him again, but it couldn’t be helped.
“She grew up in a tough neighborhood, and one of her cousins was an MMA fighter. Nobody messes with Robyn if they know what’s good for them.”
RJ shook his head.
“I’m sorry this happened to her, but the evidence is clear. That asshole is going down.”
After securing the building, RJ drove them to the Sheriff’s office to deliver the recording. The woman at the desk accepted the evidence, saying Robyn would likely hear from Glaser’s attorney after processing the paperwork. Jonah wished they could forget about the whole thing, but he knew other women might suffer the same fate if Glaser wasn’t punished. Had he been a shifter, Ben would have already dealt with the situation—permanently.
On their way, RJ tried to lighten the mood by asking Jonah what he wanted to do for the afternoon. Images popped into his head while pheromones thickened the cab’s air. He licked his lips, leaned over the center console, and palmed RJ’s half-hard cock.
“Your place,and hurry.”
RJ moaned and hit the gas.

MAIN ENTRANCE GUARDHOUSE
In every operation of this size, things occasionally went wrong, including the scheduling of personnel. Dell and Spence, accidentally stuck with a double shift, were now dead on their feet. Caleb sent a couple of green replacements, along with an apology and instructions to get some sleep. When the newbies arrived, Dell gave them the rundown.
“Look, I know neither of you have worked this post before, but it’s not difficult. There aren’t any regular deliveries scheduled today, so you probably won’t see anyone coming through here except pack members. If you do, follow the procedure on the clipboard. If anything seems fishy, call it in and ask for help. Got it?”
The replacements nodded in agreement, eager for a change in duties.
“Great! Your shift only lasts a few hours, so keep your eyes open and stay sharp.”
Dell and Spence headed for the command tent next door to crash, leaving the newbies to mind the store. Introductions were in order since they came from separate teams and hadn’t yet worked together. The curvy, green-eyed ginger extended a hand to his tall, dark counterpart.
“Hi. I’m Troy, here from Duluth to help save your asses!”
The other man laughed, checking out the handsome stranger as their hands met for a shake.
“Doug, but everyone calls me Doogie. I’m originally from Minnesota and moved here about a year ago. By the way, you can have my ass anytime you want it.”
Troy growled, giving him a wicked grin.
“Don’t give me any ideas. Why don’t we get familiar with our duty station?”
Doogie winked, unable to resist a bit more teasing.
“I’dloveto get familiar... now hand me the clipboard.”
The small guardhouse filled with flirty pheromones as the pair examined their instructions and looked over the alarm system. Not ten minutes later, a bulky refrigerated truck emblazoned with “Gordy’s Meats” pulled up to the closed gates and stopped, surprising them both. No one had thought to notify the guardhouse of Perdy’s special order. Troy volunteered to take this one and approached the driver’s side door.
“Good afternoon, Sir. May I help you?”
He picked up the strong odor of a nervous human. In fact, he detected multiple human scents yet saw only the driver.
