Nearly finished with lunch, Jonah reached over to wipe a bit of sauce from RJ’s chin. The touch got his attention, but when he presented his thumb for licking, RJ broke out in goosebumps. Jonah, too, was affected, visibly shivering at the wet, warm contact. After RJ slowly cleansed the digit, Jonah leaned over to whisper in his mate’s ear.
“Did you feel that, Rascal? I can’t wait to give you something else to lick.”
RJ groaned, his dick twitching with interest while naughty images danced through his head.
“You’re killing me, Jo! All bets are off when we get home.”
After the meal, they headed south, intending to visit Ludington Park on Escanaba’s lakeshore. Before they reached it, Jonah spotted the U-Putt Family Fun Center.
“Can we go? I’ve never tried putt-putt golf.”
RJ liked the idea and pulled in. Moderately crowded on a Saturday, they waited in line for their turn. He explained the basic rules to Jonah and how to fill out the scorecard. Jonah whacked the ball so hard on the first hole that it went sailing into the air and fell into the artificial lake. They went back and got another one, and Jonah’s second try ricocheted off one of the rocks and ended up two holes farther over. RJ laughed heartily while Jonah wondered why he couldn’t seem to temper his strength.
RJ offered to help by coming up close—veryclose—behind and covering Jonah’s hands for the next swing. His lips brushed against Jonah’s ear with the instructions.
“Careful now, Jo. You need a firm swing, but not toohard.”
By the time he took the putt, Jonah was both hardandpanting. He turned around to find RJ with a smug look on his face.
“You did that on purpose!”
RJ winked at him.
“As they say, payback’s a bitch.”
Miraculously, they made it through all eighteen holes without injuries or inappropriate PDAs. Unfortunately for Jonah, he missed par repeatedly and ended up with an impressive losing score. He didn’t care. It was fun, relaxing, and something he’d always wanted to try—more memorable because he shared the experience with his mate.
They soon reached Ludington Park—a unique combination of lakeshore property and Sand Island. It offered walking trails, a public beach, a marina, and Sandpoint Lighthouse, home of the Delta County Historical Society. They started with a casual walk along one of the trails, content to hold hands, enjoy the view, and converse. With no one else around to overhear their conversation, Jonah decided to ask some pointed questions.
“Have you ever had a boyfriend?”
Amused and embarrassed, Rascal squeezed Jonah’s hand.
“Not until now. I didn’t come out to my Ma until shortly before she died, and before that, I was busy with school and work. It turns out she knew all along, so Icouldhave if I’d met someone special.”
“Oh, good! I mean... sorry, that didn’t come out right. I like knowing I’m your first.”
“Fair enough. What about you?”
“Nope. The guys who showed interest in me only wanted sex, and I wasn’t out to my parents until right before I moved here. Ben and my sister Meredith already knew, but I was afraid of my dad. It’s not an issue anymore, but he gave us a rough time, especially Ben.”
RJ hesitated, unsure if he should ask his next question.
“So, you’ve never had sex with a man?”
Jonah flared with heat but answered honestly.
“No. I wanted to wait for my ma... the right person. Have you?”
RJ shook his head.
“Me either. I’ve fooled around a little bit with guys, but it never went that far. Are you disappointed?”
Jonah growled and stopped walking to look RJ in the eye.
“Not at all. I think it’s HOT. We both have imaginations, and I’m sure we’ve each seen enough porn to know what we might want.”
Jonah surprised RJ with his boldness and honesty. Maybe he didn’t need to be so nervous about tonight after all. They resumed their walk, and Jonah continued the conversation.
