He lifted his head to look down at her. “That was fucking amazing.”

Before she could reply, he stood up abruptly. She fell back, and he leaned down, his hands closing around her upper arms. He pulled her to her feet, turned them both around, and pushed her back into the chair he’d just left.

He grabbed her calves, spread her legs, and draped them over the arms of the chair. “Don’t move,” he ordered. Then he was the one dropping to his knees. She was already wet, but seeing him kneeling between her spread thighs sent heat licking through her.

He ran his palms from her knees up the insides of her thighs, the rough scrape of his skin setting every nerve ending along the way on fire.

“Eyes here,” he ordered softly, and she looked back at him.

“So bossy,” she murmured.

He cracked a smile, that wicked, crooked grin of his that had always been her secret weakness. “I know you like it.”

That was her secret, too, one he’d figured out from the start. Shedidlike it, but only for him. Only with him.

As she was busy getting lost in his dark eyes and inky long lashes, he slid two fingers into her, forcing a gasp out of her.

“So ready,” he said, pumping gently. His other hand slid up over her stomach, cupping her breast and flicking her nipple.

“Mmmm,” was all the reply she could manage. Her head tipped back against the back of the chair and her eyes started to close.

“Eyes on me,” he reminded her.

It felt vulnerable, looking into his eyes as he did this to her. She usually avoided looking directly at him when they were together, she realized. In those moments when he was physically taking her apart, it felt like too much, to let him see in her eyes what he was doing to her.

It was still hard, still scary, but she made herself look back, even when he lowered his mouth to her. The second his tongue licked across her clit, she moaned and nearly closed her eyes again.

“Eyes open,” he murmured, right against her, and she felt the vibration as much as she heard him. He put his mouth back on her, stroking and sucking, until her thighs started to tremble and her fingers were curling into claws, her nails cutting into the arms of the chair.

“Please,” she murmured, almost mindless with the need to come. His dark eyes softened as he gazed up her body, never stopping what he was doing with his mouth, with his hands.

“Come on, baby,” he whispered against her most sensitive skin. One more pass of his tongue was all it took. She came, her whole body shaking and trembling, and finally her eyes slid closed as the wave of pleasure rocketed through her. She slumped down in the chair, boneless with her release.

She felt him move, standing up, sliding her legs back together. She opened her eyes in time to see him whip his T-shirt off over his head, marveling in the gorgeous ripples of his abdomen as he turned and tossed it away. He bent down, sliding one arm under her knees and the other behind her back.

She reached for his broad, solid shoulders to steady herself. “What are you doing?”

“Taking you to bed so I can finish this,” he said as he carried her across the room.

She wasn’t sure what they were doing anymore, or how she felt about it, but as she rested her head against his shoulder, she knew she didn’t want it to end.

30Las Vegas, Nevada

Chase shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot. He stuffed his hands in the pockets of his suit pants, then took them back out. He’d been at his first major function as a “brand ambassador” for Jet Energy drinks, a huge post-race party in Vegas, for all of an hour and it already felt like an hour too long. This wasn’t his kind of place or his kind of people.

Everybody was being nice enough. He’d been surrounded by Arrow Beverages corporate bigwigs since he’d walked in the door, and they all seemed delighted to have him there, but he still felt out of his depth. Violet was supposed to come with him tonight. She’d have made everything easier, whispering in his ear all night, letting him know who was who, why they were important, and what he should say to them.

But at the last minute she’d found out Reece was planning a private post-race party of his own, so she’d gone there to make sure he didn’t embarrass himself or the team too much.

“How did you feel about the race today, Chase?” one guy asked. Tim? Tom? He couldn’t remember. He was surrounded by a trio of nearly identical thirty-something guys in nearly identical gray suits, all of whom worked for Arrow. All of themwere drunk, enjoying a party on the company’s dime. This was part of what the corporations got out of sponsorships. He got money, they got VIP access to the races and one-on-one time with drivers.

“Oh, you know. There are some spots I felt I could have done better, but overall it wasn’t bad.”

“Has Pinnacle signed you for next season yet?” Ron? No, it was Rob.

“If they do, you’ll be the first to know,” Chase said with a grin. The whole little group of guys in suits laughed. Tom, Rob, and … He had no idea what the other guy’s name was, and now it felt too late to ask.

“Must have been nice having your girlfriend at the race this weekend,” Tom said.
