I shake my head as I have a seat on the hay bales. “I met up with my girl last night.”

His eyes widen. “Yeah, how’d it go?”

“She slept over,” I tell him with a grin.

He laughs. “Yeah!” he cheers me on. “It’s about time.”

I laugh. “I know. I resisted her all I could. She got me drunk, and I gave in. And… well, jealousy may have played a part.”

“Jealousy?”

I nod. “Yeah, I saw a guy hitting on her yesterday. Then last night, he came into the bar and asked her to dance. It felt like a now or never situation, so I told him to fuck off, and I took her out on the dance floor.”

He grins. “Atta boy,” he says. “So you think this is going to turn into something special?”

I shake my head. “She’s moving to New York at the end of the summer, so I don’t see how it can.”

“That’s okay. Not every girl has to be the girl,” he says. “Just keep that in mind when feelings come into play.”

I nod, knowing that I have nothing to worry about there. I mean, sure, she seems like a great girl. She’s beautiful, fun, her body is amazing, and she has this talent to somehow bring me out of my shell, but I haven’t ever been in love, and I don’t intend on starting now. I haven’t been in a serious relationship since high school, but even then, I knew I had to watch out for myself. I was young and had big dreams of going pro. I didn’t want to give that up for any girl, so when the time came that we needed to part ways, I had no problem in doing so. I don’t think Hannah will lead to any problems.

Kaden and I hang out and talk while I eat my lunch, and when I finish, he leaves to let me get back to work. The whole day, I can’t think of anything but the night before. I remember how it felt holding her on the dance floor. I remember how good I felt knowing that I had her when another guy wanted her. I felt good that she chose me. And then, that kiss. The kiss that started it all. It’s been a long time since I’ve kissed a woman. I’ve kept to myself for years, not wanting to make anyone else as miserable as I was. When we kissed, it was like she breathed life back into me. I was no longer numb. I had my feeling back, and it felt twice as strong than it ever did.

I think back over the night, how I drove her to my place and how she damn near attacked me the moment I shut the truck off. I remember that sexy as fuck dress she had on, the way her tits hung when she bent down to shoot a game of pool. I think about how sweet she tastes between her legs this morning. A shiver runs down my spine when I remember how my name sounded leaving her lips. My body begins to come alive as images from last night fill my thoughts. Thinking about her makes the day go by faster than normal, but also slower at the same time. She keeps my mind off the hard work, but it also makes me yearn to see her again.

I finish up work around five, and I climb behind the wheel of my truck. I exit the property and start my way down the mountain. This time, instead of driving past that driveway, I turn into it and park next to her car. I kill the engine and hop out, making my way up to the front door. The moment I step onto the porch, the screen door is opening, and I look up to find her walking up to me.

I smile when I see her in that hot-pink string bikini that’s probably two sizes too small. Her tits look like they’re about to spill out of the small triangles. She’s soaking wet, and she wraps her arms around my neck and pulls me in for a kiss. I don’t mind getting a little wet, so I wrap my arms around her waist, kissing her back.

When she breaks our kiss, she smiles. “Hi.”

I let out a chuckle. “Well, hello there.”

“Are you ready to meet my nutball friends?”

I laugh. “Ready as I’ll ever be, I guess.”

She releases me but catches my hand in hers before pulling me through the door. I quickly take in the cabin she’s staying in before she pulls me straight through to the back patio. In the in-ground pool is two girls.

“Summer, Chloe, this is Jameson. Jameson, these are my best friends, Summer and Chloe.”

“Hey,” one says.

“Hi,” says the other.

“It’s nice to meet you,” I tell them, waving.

“He’s hot,” one of them says, looking at Hannah with a grin.

Hannah laughs, and her cheeks turn red with embarrassment. “Sorry, she’s already been drinking today,” she tells me.

“The water’s perfect. You wanna get in?” the other one asks.

I look at Hannah, and her eyes flash from me to them and back. “I think we’ll just go in the house and hang out?”

I nod, agreeing.

Keeping her hand in mine, she leads me back inside. “Can I get you anything to drink? Are you hungry?” she asks, releasing my hand and walking into the kitchen.
