“Back in his office. He’s a little nervous.”

I laugh. “Nervous, why?”

She shrugs. “I guess he really loves the person who everyone is here for.”

“Awe, I wonder who it is?” I say, mostly to myself as I head for the office.

I walk in and set my purse on his desk. “Everything okay? You got a full house out there this time.”

He tuns in his chair to face me. “I know. I wasn’t expecting this big of a turn out.” His hands move to my legs and he pulls me over to stand in front of him.

I run my hand through his hair as he looks up at me. “Are you nervous?”

He nods. “Yeah, a little bit.”

I cock my head to the side. “Why? This isn’t anything you haven’t done before.”

He shrugs. “I’m just scared that things aren’t going to go the way I want them to.”

“What do you mean?” I ask, but someone knocks on the door.

“Come in,” Pax says, looking around me.

I turn to see Jackie poke her head in. “It’s time.”

Pax stands up and we’re nose to nose.

“Everything will be fine. This will be great. You’ll see,” I tell him, pressing my lips to his.

The two of us walk out and we squeeze through the crowd of people. There are waiters walking around and he grabs us both a glass of champagne.

“Wow, you really went all out. Are you sure you can afford this?”

He laughs and takes a sip. “It’s worth it,” he assures me.

We get stopped by several people around town and I see Lola across the room. I grab Paxton’s hand to get his attention. “I’m going to go talk to Lola for a sec,” I tell him as he carries on a conversation with Mark.

I walk across the room and come to a stop in front of Lola. “Look at you, pretty lady,” I say, loving her red dress with white poke-a-dots.

“Hey, how’s it going? You’ve been awful busy lately,” she says, sipping her champagne.

I nod. “Good. I’ve been so busy. Word got out about this place and it was like every business in town was knocking on my door. I’m working with three business in town now.”

Her eyes widen. “Wow, that’s amazing.”

I smile and nod. “How are things with you and the studio?”

“Good, this is always a busy time of year. Between Christmas pictures, engagement photos, birth announcements, it’s crazy.”

“Oh, you brought your camera tonight,” I say, motioning toward it on the table behind her. “Is this for business or pleasure?”

She smiles. “Both.”

A tapping sound fills my ears and I turn to see where it’s coming from. The crowd seems to part and when I look at the other end, Paxton is tapping his butterknife off his champagne glass.

“The author must finally be here,” I whisper to Lola.

I turn to see her picking up her camera. She aims it at Paxton and snaps a photo. That confuses me, but Pax holds out his hand for me and I go to him.
