My curiosity is piqued.

“What does that mean?”

“Well,” she starts in a sly voice, “do you remember Colton? That hot guy I met at the block party.” Colton. I know him pretty well. I mean, I haven’t seen him since that night, but since he’s so close to Nash, I know quite a bit about him from what Nash tells me. They’re not just business partners, but really good friends.

“Yeah, I remember Colton,” I say.

Amy squeals.

“So, we went off together that night, and it wasamazing. Like earth shattering, world ending, parting the heavens amazing. He ravished me like no man has ever managed to do. I never knew sex could bethatgood.”

That sounds awfully familiar.

“I was going to leave the next morning,” Amy continues, “but I couldn’t bring myself to. Colt could sense how much I wanted to stay with him, and he wanted me to stay too. So he went to work, and let me hang out in his gorgeous, out of this world house for the day. When he got back home, we fucked like rabbits again.”

“Oh my,” I gasp.

“Sorry for being so crass,” she apologizes.

“No, don’t stop. I love your stories. Keep going.”

“Okay, well, we kept going, me just never leaving. I called in sick to work every day, I started wearing less clothes around his house because I was always there, and honestly, Colt liked it that way. We fell into our own routine. A few days in, Colt told me he wanted me to stay with him permanently. You know, living in his house and everything. So I quit my job, and I’ve been here ever since living the good life.”

What? Amy’s doing the exact same thing I am. I mean, the way we went about it is a little different, but the end result is that we’re both two ladies of leisure, lazing around while our men take care of us.

And we take care of them in our own way.

“What about you?” she asks. “What have you been up to, girlfriend? I’m sorry I’ve been so unavailable.”

I take a deep breath.

“You won’t believe this,” I begin slowly.

My friend giggles.

“What is it?”

“Do you remember Nash, Colt’s friend?”

“Yeah, of course. Colt talks about him quite a bit. They work together at the chop shop.” She’s telling me things I already know, but she doesn’t know the details.

“So, I went home with him that same night that you hooked up with Colt.”

Amy gasps on the phone.

“No way, really? I thought you were going to go home and watchPride & Prejudice. I could see you thinking about it.” She’s right. I was, and my friend knows me too well.

“Iwasthinking about a solid night of TV, but Nash swept me onto his motorcycle and took me to his place instead.”

“You rode a motorcycle? Really? Were you scared? Did you totally freak out? Were you screaming all the way over to his house?”

“First off, no, I didn’t embarrass myself like that. Iwasa little scared because it was my first time and all, but he made me feel safe. It was actually kind of fun.”

“Aww, that’s so sweet.” I love how Amy is eating up everything I’m telling her. She’s so good at listening to me talk.

“Nashisvery sweet. But, yeah, after we had our first night together, I snuck out, thinking I’d never see him again. But we ran into each other the next day, and one thing led to another. I also quit my job and spend my days with Nash. I’m basically living with him now.” I don’t want to get into the why. The mood is so happy, and I’d like for it to stay that way on this phone call.

“What!” Amy shrieks. “You’re doing it too?” She sounds so excited.
