L: It’s two in the morning.

T: Is it? I can barely keep my eyes open.

L: Me too.

T: Goodnight, Lucas Mortimer Freeman.

L: Goodnight, Taylor Marlena Reed.

T: How did you know my middle name?

L: I have my sources.

A winking eye emoji flung up.

I giggled and sent him a winking kiss emoji.

Just before I thought we were done, he sent up a heart emoji.

I closed my eyes with phone in hand and drifted off to sleep.

Things every kid should do at least once:
