“Ruin your… What are you talking about? Are you on something?” Kevin yelled.

“You should know.”

“I should know what?” Kevin snarled.

“What the hell I’m on. You were the one who shot me up with it!”

Mitch stared Kevin down.

“Look here, Mitchy, I can see something’s wrong. You want me to call your doctor?”

Mitch dodged around the island to catch him, but Kevin stayed one step ahead.

“I remember it all now. It’s all come back,” Mitch said. “You fucking shot me up with heroin, didn’t you? You did it again and again and again.”

“No, little brother. You got that wrong.”

“You got me hooked on that shit and ruined my fucking life!”

With near superhuman strength, Mitch vaulted over the island and tackled his brother, pinning him to the ground.

“You fucking…took…away…my…life!” he yelled, punctuating each word by driving Kevin’s head into the floor.

“Stop it! Stop it, please!” Kevin cried. “I didn’t do it. You were spinning out of control all by yourself. Don’t you remember?”

“I remember everything now.”

“I don’t think you know what you remember. Your brain’s all messed up, man. You fried your brain all by yourself.”

“You sold me to other guys while I was fried!” Mitch shouted.

“What the fuck are talking about?”

“You let other guys fuck me. You sold me to other guys. To fuck! Why!?”

“It was probably some other guy you hooked up with. It wasn’t me. I swear it,” Kevin pleaded.

Mitch grabbed Kevin by his shoulders and shook him. “Stop lying to me!”

“I’m not lying. Trust me. I’m your brother. Why would I want to hurt you? I’ve spent my life looking out for you.”

“You’ve spent your life taking advantage of me.”

“That’s bullshit and you know it,” Kevin barked.

“Bullshit? Like you telling everyone that this is your house?”

“Well, it should have been,” Kevin countered. “She had no right to cut me out of her will like that. I had every right to this house. You didn’t. I’m the oldest! I was there for that old broad when she needed work done around the place while you were off at school partying your face off.”

“And you hated me for it, didn’t you? You were stuck here working when no one else would hire you.”

Kevin pushed Mitch away. “And who’s fault was that? That money-grubbing boyfriend of yours. If you’re looking for someone who ruins lives, it’s him. He wrecked any chances I ever had, just because he couldn’t keep his pecker in his pants. He only wanted you because of that ass of yours and the money you have in this place. How long do you think he would have stuck around with all your pathetic whining about how hard done by you were, especially with that paycheque the developer waved in his face? How long?”

“So, I made a mistake with him, but at least he didn’t try to kill me.”

“Stop blaming everybody else for your own bad choices,” Kevin yelled.

Mitch slapped Kevin hard across the face as he straddled his chest.
