Seriously, what the hell was going on? “Look, I’m just looking for James. Do either of you know where room 3B is?”

Tanner smiled. “Room 3B, huh? Nice choice.”

“Yeah…” But I didn’t sound sure at all. Because Tanner looked so happy with himself and I was still really confused.

Tanner stepped to the side and opened another curtain. There was a fancy door with a strange ancient looking symbol etched onto it.

“Down the hall to the left,” he said. “It’s the room marked with the pencil symbol.” He opened up the door for me, and I was happy to see that the hallway wasn’t filled with strippers, monkey men, or police officers.

“Penny,” Mason said before I walked through. “Don’t go into any other rooms, okay?”

“Okay?”

“And have fun.” He winked at me and turned back to Tanner before the door closed with a thud.

This had to be one of the strangest nights of my life. But I definitely felt safer in this hallway than I did running through all those red curtains.

I walked past a few doors with other symbols on them. Not strange ones like the one on the main door. I recognized these. A shamrock. An hourglass. A snowflake. A snake. There didn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to any of them. And they certainly didn’t go together.

I stopped at the door with a pencil etched onto it. It also said 3B in very small font beneath it. For the people like me that had no idea what the symbols meant, I guess. I knocked on the door and waited a few seconds. But no one responded. I knocked again. Still no response.

James had said five minutes or else. I was pretty sure I was probably late. So where the heck was he? I wrapped my hand around the knob and was surprised to find it unlocked. I opened up the door. Everything inside was pitch black. But when I stepped in, the lights magically turned on.

I was standing in the middle of a classroom. Or…a replica of one. Because there was no way any parents would send their children to a place like this to learn. I walked past the rows of desks for students and up to the podium at the front of the room. There was an even bigger desk up here, I guess for the teacher. It wasn’t like the college classrooms. It reminded me more of high school. I ran my hand along the top of the wooden desk and stared up at the chalkboard.

Thank God James and I had met in college rather than high school. Because if we’d met in a classroom like this and done the things we did…he would have ended up in jail rather than just losing his job.

I lifted up one of the notebooks on the desk. It was empty. Because…of course it was. I crossed my arms and stared at the chalkboard. It definitely wasn’t a real classroom, because there wasn’t even any chalk. Or even a single eraser smudge on the board. Or an eraser for that matter. Everything was too perfect. And the room smelled a little of fresh paint.

But I didn’t have any more time to think about how weird it was that there was a classroom in the middle of all this insanity. Because I heard a click and the door to the classroom opened.

James walked in, fully dressed again. He started pacing back and forth. He clearly hadn’t seen me. And for a few seconds, I justgot to stare at him. That scowl was still stuck on his face. His eyebrows were lowered like he wanted to rip my head off.

And it was so incredibly sexy. I was still really pissed off at him. But seeing him seething like that? I couldn’t help but want him to take his frustrations out on me. I couldn’t wait for him to fuck me. Right after I gave him a piece of my mind.

“James,” I said in my most authoritative tone. Although, I was pretty sure it wasn’t authoritative at all.

He froze. His scowl turned to me in full force and I felt myself clench.

“What the hell was that?!” I said. “You put your hands all over everyone. And that Kristen girl? Wasn’t she stalking you a few years ago? That was a really fucked up thing for you to do.”

He lowered his eyebrows. “Are you done?”

“No.” Actually, that was all I had to say. And I hadn’t been expecting him to ask that. But I loved telling him no, so it had just slipped out. I cleared my throat. “The way you were looking at Bee? And Daphne? Completely inappropriate. And you practically went down on Alina.”

“Now are you done?”

“No.”Yes.What the hell else was I supposed to say? “I’m so royally pissed off at you. And where the hell are we?!”

He didn’t say a word. He just walked over to me, past all the desks, the scowl on his face growing. Each step turned me oneven more. And honestly, the whole classroom thing made it even sexier. How many times had I imagined James taking me right in the middle of class?

He stopped right in front of me. And I wasn’t sure what came over me, but I slapped him across the face. The sound of the slap echoed around the empty room.

He grabbed my hand and pinned it against the chalkboard as he pressed his body into mine.

Holy shit.

“Did you think I enjoyed seeing your hands on Rob?”
