“Then, it’s a good thing I got us each two bottles of it.”

I walked over to her and kissed the top of her head. “You’re outstanding, you know that?”

She leaned against me. “You’re pretty outstanding yourself.”

She let me wrap my arm around her, so I took advantage of the moment. I pulled her close and draped my arms around her back before I buried my nose into her hair. She nestled against me, seeking out my warmth and my comfort as we stood there with the sounds of Vegas peppering the earth twenty-five stories below us.

And after chancing another soft kiss against the top of her head, she sighed. “I’m really glad you’re back,” she whispered.

I rubbed my hands up and down her back. “I’m glad I’m back, too.”

She peered up at me. “I talked with Guadalupe this morning.”

My eyebrows rose. “Oh? How did that go?”

She shrugged. “She gave me some good advice. And after taking a quick nap, I decided to take some of Margo’s advice.”

“You talked to Margo, too?”

She shook her head. “Nah, not yet. I’m sure I will soon, though. Margo’s always telling me to take my personal days whenever I can. I always tell people I’m going to save them up, then I never take them, and I end up cashing them in at the end of the year. So, I’m taking a personal day.”

I paused. “When?”

She smiled brightly. “Tomorrow.”

A grin slithered across my face. “So, you’re off work tomorrow.”

“That, I am.”

“And I’m technically off work tomorrow since I told everyone I’d be back at my desk Tuesday morning.”

She stood onto her tiptoes, her lips hovering just beyond mine. “So, what are two people in Vegas to do with a random day off?”

I felt myself growing weak against her. “I suppose I could call down to the front desk and see if we could occupy this place for another evening.”

“Mmmm, I suppose you could.”

My hands traveled to the globes of her ass. “Then, I could schedule us a last-minute spa evening we could enjoy together.”

She groaned. “Sounds fantastic.”

I feathered my lips against hers. “Then, we could get into our comfy pajamas, order way too much food for dinner, and eat ourselves into a coma while watching television.”

“Oh, talk dirty to me, handsome. Because I think we could both use the rest.”

I captured her lips in a searing kiss that left me breathless as our tongues danced in tandem with the wild beating of our hearts. I scooped her against me, feeling her moan down the back of my throat as I gripped her hair in my hand. I tugged her head to the side and kissed down her neck, raking my teeth softly along the vein that pulsed beneath her skin. And when she shivered against me, I scooped her into my arms and dropped my ass down onto the couch behind me.

“I want to apologize for all of the questions and disgusting social media posts that I’m sure you’ve seen,” I murmured.

Her forehead touched down against mine before she started scratching against my scruff; I had forgotten to shave that morning. “What I saw was you coming to my defense and my aid when people were asking inappropriate questions.”

I shrugged. “I did exactly what I needed to do. They’re lucky they didn’t get punched.”

She giggled. “I don’t think I could ever see you punching someone.”

“Well, have them talking about you like that again, and we’ll see what happens.”

She kissed the tip of my nose. “Thank you for sticking up for me.”
