She opened her eyes and pointed to the left.“Trac’s offices are that way.Dante and I will go this way and meet you back here.”
Dima’s nostrils flared but he didn’t say a word.Instead, he and the others went to the left.
Dante looked over at her.
She pointed toward the right.“I don’t happen to care if they believe about me.We need to shut this down before they get those canisters into the rivers..Come with me.He has some assassins here but they aren’t alerted yet.Maybe we can stop them before they wake up.”
“How are we going to do that?”Dante wanted to know.
Faith didn’t answer as she walked down the hall. She paused to listen for a moment then moved further down the hall.Next, she came to three locked doors.Leaning toward the steel portal, she closed her eyes. She listened for a moment then opened her eyes again.“They are here.”
“What can we do?”Dante asked her.
Faith stepped away and raised her hands.Electricity sparked and she let it grow between her palms.A fireball built and intensified greatly, then she aimed the force of the power at the door lock. The steel grew warm, hot then red hot, melting the lock. The handle dripped down the steel, sealing the door to the frame.
Before the frame could cool she moved to the next door and did the same thing and finally she sealed the third door shut in the same manner. With her body sagging a bit, she allowed the fireball to go out.
Dante knew he couldn’t touch her yet as her eyes were still a bright amber. When her eyes went back to blue, he hurried over to her and took her in his arms.Turning her around, he walked back down the hall with her.He assisted her over to a chair and sat her down. Then he squatted down in front of her and searched her for any injury.“Are you okay, my love?”
Faith sighed and nodded.“I think so but that took a lot of my power.”
“Why did you seal the doors?”Dante asked.
“The assassins were sleeping behind them.If they are like the ones in New York or on the ship, they are programmed to wake up when the doors open and they have orders to kill anyone they find on the other side of the door.”She shook her head.“I didn’t want them to be able to get out.”
“You do know the Russians have orders to firebomb the warehouse and the boats right?”
Faith nodded.“I know, maybe that’s for the best. Those men will burn to death as they sleep and they will not even wake. This will free them from what they’ve become.Something they never chose to be in the first place.”
Chapter Seven
Afew minutes later, they saw several men walking back down the hall from the left.
Dima and his brother Ghosts were on their way with another man they had tied up.The tied up man kept struggling and yelling but Dima had a hold of him and that hold wasn’t breaking anytime soon.
The bound man kept looking around as if he were expecting trouble.
