“Da, it certainly would,” Sergi agreed.“I will make some calls and get my Ghosts split up into two groups and we will see what they can get done.”
“Tell your Ghosts if they go up against these super soldiers, they will need swords to cut off their heads,” Bane advised.“That’s the best way to kill them. Also tell them not to get too close, because these so-called zombies will kill them then walk right over their bodies to get to the next threat and that is what your men will be, threats.”
Sergi slowly shook his head.“Spasibo Bane for those surreal instructions. To fight men who are no longer human. But I will tell them.”He walked back down the hall to his room.
Bane looked over at Bastian and shook his head.“Do you think he believes us?”
Bastian nodded.“Yeah, I think he believes us.Let’s just hope his men can do all he claims they can do.”
Chapter Five
Early the next morning, Bane was awake and sitting at the kitchen table, drinking coffee when Sergi joined him.Bane motioned at the tea pot brewing strong Russian tea.
“Spasibo, Bane, I love a good strong tea.”Sergi nodded as he poured a cup then came over to the kitchen table to sit down.“I did wish to speak to you in particular, so this is advantageous that you and I are here together.”
Bane took a sip of his coffee then set his mug down to look over at him.“What can I do for you, Mr.Constantine?”
“Net, call me Sergi, please.Mr.Constantine is for strangers. You and I are not that anymore.”
Bane smirked at him.“I suppose we aren't.So what can I do for you, Sergi?”
“I read this apocalypse manifest in great detail, although it is far too large to take in during a couple of hours reading.”
“True,” Bane agreed.“I think the manifest itself is almost 600 pages and a lot of that is wild raving and rantings.”
“But the parts I skipped ahead to.About this reckoning...The poisons and the like. This is simply horrific.A catastrophic happening. If all of that actually transpires...The family here at this estate will be in severe danger.”
Bane looked steely eyed as this subject was not new for him.“We are aware.”
“I would like to offer our protection,” Sergi suggested.
“Protection?”Bane raised a brow at him.
“Yes, the Bratva has much influence and wealth.Resources and hideouts. We could arrange for a place for VIM’s Family.”
Bane sat forward and met Sergi’s serious gaze.He opened his mouth to answer.
