Bastian slowly shook his head and turned to look at Bane.“And right now, most people live from payday to payday.”

Bane nodded and looked grim.“If the poisons get planted and fed to the livestock, the livestock is going to be toxic. Then the people who eat that meat are going to start dying as well.”

“Well, at any rate we’d better get stocked up for the future,” Bastian commented.

“We’re joining the survivalists now?”Bane smirked.

Bastian shrugged.“Joining? We already joined when I had this place modified, Bane.”

James agreed, “Two floors above ground and 3 below.Storage rooms that are already well stocked, I might add.We even have an underground escape route.”

“Yes, so wearesurvivalists, already Bane.”Bastian gave him a nod.

Bane shook his head.“We have a heads up on this too, when others do not.”He again looked angry.“I would rather that it never happens at all.”He turned toward the small group of people with their laptops in front of them.“Anything on the fourth member of this little group?”

Rainey looked up with weary eyes.“I might have something.I’ve been eliminating a bunch of corporations that are capable of doing this and I’ve found two men with the qualifications to do it.One of the men, Lemond Trac, lives in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St.Paul.The other one is Nick Fellows, he lives in Montana. Both men are capable as they both hold a high degree in chemistry. So one lives on the Mississippi River and the other lives on the Missouri River.”

“Otherwise,” Lancelot said.“They are prime suspects. No proof mind you, but they are looking pretty good for this.”

Shaking her head, Rainey admitted, “I’m still working on narrowing the field.”

Cane shook his head.“You need some sleep, girl. All of you do.”

Rainey let out a sigh.“We need to find these bastards so we can stop them, time is running out for all of us.I can sleep when you guys bust the Horsemen.”

“Then find out who the fourth man could be and we’ll take it from there.”Bane growled.

She nodded at him then rubbed her tired eyes and went back to the dark net.

Lancelot looked up at Bane and he seemed to want to say something but didn’t know quite how to say it.

Bane paused to raise a brow at him.“What? If you got something to say, say it.”

“I was looking into the first man, Conrad Winters.”

“We already took care of him and his army of zombies.”Bane growled.

Lancelot nodded.“So I heard, but he’s got secrets that no one has found out about.”

“What kind of secrets?”Bastian wanted to know.

“He’s got a compound not far from here, over by Tupper Lake,” Lancelot told him.“I have a feeling there’s something there that we need to know about.”

Bastian cocked his head and asked, “What have you found about his compound that makes you think we need to go there?”

Lancelot shook his head.“I haven’t found anything but I just have a gut feeling there’s something there we need to see.”

Bastian stared at him for a moment. He looked over at Bane and the others. Then he turned back to Lancelot.“I’ll tell you what, take a small team and find his compound.See what you can find.If there’s something there, suss it out then come back and let us know what you found. You might want to take Faith with you for protection.”

Lancelot stared at him and opened his mouth to reply.

Bastian raised his hand up at him.“Not that I think you can’t protect each other but if you run into trouble, you’re gonna need her with you.”

Lancelot nodded.“Ok, we’ll bring her along.I only want to take one or two others with us anyway.A smaller group stands a better chance of getting in and out with no one knowing it.”

“I agree and she can also get in there in an instant,” Bastian replied.“Just be careful and make sure you all come back.”

Lancelot nodded.“We’ll leave soon and try to make it back tonight.”On his way out, he motioned for Calegis and Palamedes to join him. They walked down the hall to Faith and Cassian’s room and asked them to go along as well.
