“No,” I say, shaking my head. “You have to have your own opinion of it. What doyoulike about it?”
He steps closer as he tells me, “I like that it makes you happy. What else do I need?”
“Reece…” I warn, seeing the heat in his eyes as they dip to my lips. His hands land on my waist as he pulls himself closer to me.
“One little taste…” he murmurs, dipping his head towards mine. There’s no denying this man. Not only is he gorgeous and sexy, but he seems to make it his mission in life to make me happy. He’s constantly figuring out what I need before I know I need it. Like this house. I hadn’t even realized that our current house didn’t really feel like a home. But he saw it. He saw me.
I press up on my toes, my lips meeting his and he groans in approval. I open to him, and he instantly takes control, sending a wave of heat through my body until my panties start to grow damp.
He slowly pulls back and groans in frustration. “I love you, darling, but you’re still injured, and Michael will be back any minute.” I nod my head, unable to use words right now. Why did he have to get me so worked up just to stop when it was getting good?
“So, do you guys want to make an offer?” Michael asks a moment later when he steps back into the room.
Reece glances at each of us, and we all nod in approval. Then he turns to Michael with a smile. “Yes, let’s sign the paperwork.”
Reece makes sure that all five of our names are on the offer. He said he wants us all to feel like equal owners in the house, and it makes my heart swell with happiness. I know he had a hard time letting Weston into his life at the beginning, but I think they now realize they have the same goal in life.
It definitely helped their case that when the two of them ganged up on me, claiming something was for my safety, I wasn’t able to push back as easily. Having the intense stare of those two men on me was more than I could take without my body flooding with heat.
Just thinking about it now has my core pooling with arousal as we exit our SUV and head into our old home.
“It’s here!” Kingsley says excitedly, picking up a small package from our front step.
“What is it?” I ask, eyeing the box suspiciously. What is he so excited about?
Reece opens the door, and we all move inside as Kingsley rushes into the kitchen and grabs a pair of scissors, quickly opening the box and looking inside. His eyes light up in excitement before he glances at me.
“It’s for you.”
“For me?” I ask in confusion.
“Yeah, I ordered it custom a couple days ago. I didn’t think it’d be here already.” I move over to where he’s standing at the counter and he steps aside, letting me peer into the box.
“What the—” I cut myself off as I reach in and pull out the small, soft gray… rock? I turn it over in my hands and see the name Steve printed on it in a darker gray, in a very similar style to the way I carved it into my rock. “You got me a stuffed version of Steve?” I ask in awe.
“Yeah… Do you like it? It’s a keychain, too. Is it too much? I thought this way you could cuddle him, and it would actually feel nice, not like… you know… cuddling a rock?”
When I don’t speak straight away, he keeps going. “Of course, maybe you like that feeling? Or the hardness of the rock? This is dumb, isn’t it? I just thought you could take this one with you wherever you go and squeeze it in one hand to give you courage. Not that I think you need courage, I—”
“Kingsley?” I cut off his rambling.
“Yeah?”
“Shut up.” He snaps his jaw shut and his eyes widen in surprise. I smile up at him as I hug the little stuffed Steve to my chest. “I love it. Like… I really, really love it. I think the real Steve deserves a place of honor on a shelf now, somewhere where we’ll see it every day and be reminded about what he did for me, time and time again.”
“Don’t you want to keep him close, in case you need him?” he asks, placing his hand on my back and rubbing soft, soothing circles.
I shake my head. “No, I don’t need him anymore,” I tell him, grabbing his free hand and pulling it to my chest. “You’re my rock now. Besides, there’s no room in my bed for him anymore.” I glance down at the soft rock I’m also clutching as a smirk pulls at my lips. “And this guy can stay with my phone, so I’ll always have him with me. Can we connect them together somehow?”
He nods, a smile forming on his sensual lips. “Yeah, I’ll order you a new phone case that lets you attach a keychain.”
“Thank you, Kingsley. This is really thoughtful. I appreciate it. And you.” I turn fully towards him.
He smiles, then bends down and kisses me, hard. I expected it to be hesitant and soft, but he doesn’t hesitate to take what he wants from me. I moan against him as his tongue touches mine, and more heat pools between my legs. These guys were killing me today.
Once again, I feel frustration when he pulls back. He must see it on my face because he runs a finger down my cheek. “You’re still bruised.”
I just grunt in reply, and he gently pulls me against his chest, stroking my hair and kissing the top of my head. “Love you, sweetheart.”
