I had a hard time finding guys to test the waters with when everyone thought we were already together. I’d somehow still scored my first kiss with a guy a month ago. Mom and Dad had been out of town and I’d convinced Tyler that we could have a few friends over. Matthew Bailey was good-looking, curious, and looked a lot like Tyler.

Perhaps it was fucked up that I’d picked him for that reason, but I knew what I wanted. What I wanted… I wasn’t willing to risk it yet. It had been awkward, and we’d both been nervous when we’d snuck off to my room.

The kiss hadn’t been bad. In fact, it had been great. Matthew and I had both been into it, probably getting a little carried away. Our kiss turned into giving each other awkward hand jobs to work off the arousal our kisses had stirred up. We both came, and it solidified what I already knew. I liked guys. I liked them a lot.

But I wasn’t limited to them. I liked Jessica Thomas too. She was pretty with long, curly blonde hair. She liked to wear short skirts. Even better, she’d grown a nice set of tits over the last summer.

All of these feelings had been confusing at first, but thanks to some incognito internet searches, I found out that bisexuality was a thing. It was comforting to know that it was normal to like both guys and girls. I was also terrified to tell Tyler. Would he still let me sleep with him if he knew? Especially if he knew I had a thing for him too.

“Do you really have to sleep in your own bed?” His question was innocent enough. His bottom lip jutted out in a pout and it took everything in me once more to not kiss it. I needed to get away from him before I did something dumb.

“Maybe just for a few nights.”

His face fell, but he nodded. Maybe we depended on each other a little too much. It would be healthy to create a little space.

“Okay, we should get ready then.” He stood from the bed and made his way to the dresser to get ready. It was the first day of high school, and neither of us knew what to expect. Most of our friends followed us, but several of them opted to go to different schools.

I watched as he peeled his T-shirt over his head. It was almost too much. My throat closed off, and I had to look away. I was going to have a situation again if I continued to watch him change. It wasn’t like this with other guys. Yes, I found them attractive, but no one got me as excited as Tyler did.

I quickly shoved off the bed and made my way across the hall to my room to get ready. I heard his frustrated call of my name as I retreated. It was such a cowardly move, but there would be so many regrets if I stayed.

After getting dressed I went to the kitchen for breakfast. Mom and Dad already sat at the table. Mom was busy arranging some paperwork in a file and Dad was reading something on his tablet. I grabbed a mug from the cabinets and poured myself a cup of coffee.

“Coffee? Really?” Mom asked.

I laughed as I fished her sugary creamer from the fridge and poured a healthy serving of it into my cup. “What can I say? The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

Mom rolled her eyes before she turned her attention to her paperwork. I grabbed a spoon from the drawer and stirred the creamer in before hunting down some food.

Tyler entered the kitchen a minute later, looking good in a pair of ripped jeans and a band tee. I pulled out a pack of pop tarts and waved the box at him. He nodded, and I pulled out an extra pack for him.

Ripping open my package I popped them in the toaster.

“That can’t be all you’re eating.” Mom must have not been as distracted as I thought she was.

I took a sip of my coffee and winced at the bitter flavor while waiting for the pastries to warm. “It’s not like we have time to make a full breakfast,” I answered.

“Maybe if you two didn’t sleep until the last possible moment.”

I looked up to see Tyler staring at his Dad. He didn’t speak up or scold very much, but it made me wonder if Tyler was thinking the same thing I was. Did he know we still shared that same bed?

“Sorry, Dad.” Tyler’s face turned red as he walked to the fridge and pulled out the bottle of orange juice. I pulled a glass from the cupboard and handed it to him. He gave me a tight smile before filling it with his drink and then chugging it back.

My pop tarts sprung from the toaster and I grasped them with the tips of my fingers, transferring them to a paper towel as quickly as possible so I didn’t burn my fingers. I started Tyler’s for him, returning to my coffee.

As soon as Tyler’s food was done, I loaded the pastries onto another paper towel for him and handed them over. We grabbed our backpacks and headed to the door. Mom called after us as we were about out the door. “Have a good day, boys. Stay out of trouble and be safe.”

Yeah… stay out of trouble. That was going to be totally possible.

As we approached the bus stop, I didn’t miss the way Tyler’s mood picked up when he spotted Maisy standing there. She wore a sky blue dress and her light brown hair was pulled up into a short ponytail. The smile that spread across her face and the wave she tossed our way was a good sign that she was happy to see him as well.

My steps faltered when Tyler took off in a run, wrapping her in a hug when he reached her. The kiss he placed against her lips took the breath right out of my lungs. When had that happened? Had I missed my chance with him? This was going to be a long ass school year.

Tyler - Age Nineteen

“Isn’tthiscute?”

The bed shook, and I jolted upright. Garrett rolled to the other side and off onto the floor. The thud was loud, and I hoped he was okay from that fall.
