"No, I'll be over shortly once I finish," I responded.

"Yay! I just got this new bottle of wine, and I want to share it. See you soon!"

We ended the call, and I got into action. I wanted to save my marriage.

I finally arrived at the hospital, looking over at the gifts and cake that I had picked up. This was something we started as a tradition. We would make a basket of each other's favorite things, buy a cake, and make love. It worked every time, and I knew this time it was needed. As I grabbed my items, I smiled, making my way into the facility. This wasn't my first time here, and everyone was familiar with me. I smiled at the front desk receptionist. She was an older lady who had been there for years.

"Hi, Ms. Tammy. Is Dr. Cruz in the back?"

"Mrs. Cruz, it's been a while," she noted, smiling brightly.

Ms. Tammy had white curly hair and pale skin. She always wore pink lipstick, pink eyeshadow, and pink blush. She also wore a decorative pin on the right side of her uniform. Everyonewho worked here or visited always complimented her spirit and care.

"It has been a while. It's good to see you."

"You too, baby. Go ahead and go on back. He just finished with a patient."

"Thank you, Ms. Tammy."

I made my way back toward my husband's office. After seeing a patient, he would go to his office to chart, scroll on his phone, and get some peace and quiet. I strolled down the hall, smiling at the other doctors and nurses. Some smiled back, a few nodded their heads, and others didn't pay me any attention. As soon as I made it to the door, I adjusted my clothes, did a soft tap, and opened the door.

"Baby..."

The cake fell out of my hand, along with the bag of goodies I had brought. My eyes ballooned and watered as I watched the young, curly-haired woman bounce up and down on Kyle's dick. She didn't have on a top, and Kyle's pants were down by his ankles. The items falling out of my hand caused them both to stop and rush to gather themselves. Kyle stuttered and fumbled as he tried to pull his pants up while the young woman searched for her top. I zeroed in on her face and realized she was the young intern I met last year at the company's Christmas party. She knew all about me and had even been to my house on many occasions.

"Mila, what the fuck are you doing here?"

Tears fell rapidly down my face. My heart shattered on the floor, and my soul was crushed.

"K-Kyle, what the fuck is going on?"

The young nurse, Jazmine, spoke up. "Mrs. Cruz, I can explain," she blurted, stuttering over her words. "He... he told me you had been divorced now for three months."

Kyle rolled his eyes. "In the process, getting... It's the same shit," he huffed out.

"Mila, don't make a scene. Go home. I will talk to you there."

"Make a scene?" I screamed. "You're telling me not to make a scene when I just caught you fucking another bitch?"

"There's no need for name-calling," Jazmine defended, finally with her shirt on. She had her hands on her hips and was scowling at me.

The audacity of her to think that I gave a fuck about what I called her in that moment. Before I knew it, I had launched toward her, but Kyle stopped me by jumping in between us.

"I wish you would hit me! Kyle, you better tell her," she sassed.

The annoyance on Kyle's face confused me.

"Tell me what?"

"Mila, go the fuck home. Jazmine, go on somewhere. This is not the time nor the place for all this shit."

"But Kyle, what-what about?" Jazmine said, stuttering over her words. "She needs to know Kyle."

Kyle rubbed his hand down his face.

"Jaz—"

"If I'm a bitch... I'm a bitch that's having his baby!" Jazmine shouted.
