My still-throbbing cock pressed against her plump ass. I suddenly didn’t feel like wasting any more time on the conversation.
David scoffed, malice in his eyes. “You’ll get there too, man. Can’t imagine her holding your interest for long.”
I threw my head back, laughing out loud. He recoiled, his brows furrowed over widened eyes. Still laughing, I nudged Sierra past him but stopped when I was right next to him.
“Y’know, that’s precisely the reason why they don’t let normal people drive Formula 1 cars. Because they have no fucking clue how to drive something with that much horsepower under the hood.” I winked at him condescendingly. “If you catch my drift.”
Using the hand still covered in the remnants of my girls’ arousal, I slapped his cheek twice with my palm, leaving him dumbfounded.
“I can’t believe you just fucking did that,” Sierra whisper-yelled as we ventured further into the living room.
Yet somehow, this seemed to have softened her towards me the tiniest bit.
She actually graced me with a genuine smile, setting my insides ablaze. Warmth spread through my chest, settling deep inside of me like everlasting embers, solidifying everything I’d already known.
Sierra was mine, and I wouldn’t give up until I possessed every little piece of her, inside and out.
“I can’t believe you didthat.” I joked, causing her to stop dead in her tracks and whirl around, ready to tear into me.
I barked out a laugh, throwing her off her stride.
She held her finger in the air as if she were about to jab it into my chest. I caught it, using it to pull her flush against my front before pressing a kiss to her forehead and peering into her pretty eyes.
“He didn’t deserve you. Fuck, neither do I,” I pursed my lips for a moment, taking a deep breath, “but I intend to get there some day. And that’s a promise, Darlin’.”
Her lips parted, her gaze unguarded for once, letting me catch a glimpse of the vulnerability and longing hidden deep in those blue depths.
“Dom, I—”
Ella popped up next to us, gripping my arm, her gaze flitting through the room frantically. “Where the fuck have you been? I’ve been looking all over for you. We need to go. Like, now.”
“What happened?” I asked, the same moment as Sierra asked, “Are you okay?”
Ella waved us off, her hand slashing through the air impatiently. “Yeah, yeah. Totally fine.”
Her voice sounded a little higher than usual, but otherwise she seemed completely normal. “I’m super sorry, but I want to go home. Can we please head out?”
“Fine by me.” Shrugging, I sent a questioning gaze toward Sierra, who nodded. “No need to apologize. Let’s go.”
But neither of us missed the way Ella’s gaze kept darting over her shoulder.
What the fuck had happened?
Twenty One
Sierra
Whatever had happened to Ella during that godforsaken party, she flat-out refused to tell us. Which, considering Ella was a yapper, was highly unusual for her and therefore cause for some concern.
Though I was worried about Ella and certainly wasn’t going to let it go without trying to get to the bottom of it later, I was also glad for the distraction she’d provided.
Dom had somehow managed to break through my newly fortified defenses, something I couldn’t afford, especially not right now, and Ella turning up provided the perfect excuse to leave.
I needed to get away from him, to not feel his hot gaze on me … or the seductive heat unfurling deep within me, tempting the part of me that didn’t want to push him away.
Everything about him seemed to draw me in now, amplified by the close proximity in the cab of his truck. Not good. His big hand rested on my thigh in a silent claim, his thumb caressing my bare skin from time to time.
I chanced a quick glance at his profile. His jaw sported a short, neatly trimmed dark-red beard — controlled rather than rugged, yet it made you wonder what it would feel like to have it scrape against your skin.
