His lips pulled into a dark smile as he pulled me into the shower with him.
“It looks like you already are.”
I was about to open the bathroom door when Atlas’ arms snaked around me.
He pressed his body up against mine. Even after messing around in the shower together, it was like I couldn’t get enough—I could feel myself reacting to his touch.
“So have you decided?” He asked against my neck.
“Decided what?” I turned enough to look him in the eye. A smirk danced across my lips and warmth filled me as I saw his gaze drop to my lips.
“If I’m just an experiment.”
Something about his tone made me hold the joke I was about to say. There was something in his eyes that demanded honesty.
“None of what we just did felt like an experiment,” I said.
I grabbed his jaw and pulled him in closer to press my lips against his in a kiss that was sweet, intimate and much too short.
“I’m all in,” I whispered.
When Atlas pulled away, he gave me a rueful smile.
“You know they’re going to give us shit when we go out there.”
I rolled my shoulders back and turned the doorknob. “Don’t I know it—you better not tell them I barely lasted two minutes or I’ll never hear the end of it.”
I flashed him a smile, and he looked at me smugly. “What can I say—I’m just that good.”

THERON
A FEW MONTHS LATER
NEW YORK CITY
Nyx and Atlas stood on either side of me on the sidewalk. Cars rushed by, horns blared and people strode by without paying us any attention. We’d spent the last few months getting our lives back together. Lachlan decided he wasn’t done having fun with us, so he was finalizing things in Austria before coming to join us in the states. Knight was finishing up some contracts and then he’d do the same. Turns out West enjoyed himself too because he’d flown back with us and was now our tech guy.
The team was coming together.
With the gold, we’d purchased a massive estate and the office tower we stood in front of now. I stared up at the skyscraper rising into the sky. It was a beautiful display of windows and iron flourishes.
“Never thought I’d call a building beautiful,” Nyx said. “But she sure is pretty.”
Atlas chuckled from my other side. “A blank slate too.”
He was right. It was a new development just finished and all the floors were empty, just waiting for someone to come along and apply their own vision to it. I took a moment to take a deep breath and revel in the moment. I rolled a set of keys in my hand.
It was mine. All of it.
My eyes continued to trail up the building, settling on the last piece of construction going on at the very top.
The business name.
The workers were just finishing the final letter of the sign.
NorTac.
