I was a sobbing, sweaty mess at that point, screaming and trying to get away from the utter intensity of the pleasure he was provoking, but I saw the glint in his eyes and I knew there was no escape. I lost all sense of myself by the fourth orgasm and soon it was a constant state where I didn’t have a clue what I was saying or doing and all that existed was energy as it electrified me.
I pleaded and shook from the tremors of pleasure but he simply looked up at my tear-streaked face and with a predatory look in his eyes said: “I know you have one more for me, baby girl.”
I bit my lip and shook my head frantically but I knew it was no use and he smirked and spoke true as he once again made me come undone.
I couldn’t move. I couldn’t stand. I don’t think I even was breathing when he finally stopped and straightened. He looked down at me with that smug look of satisfaction at his kill and came around to brush a tear from my cheek.
“There are other ways to torture someone,” he said and I groaned as he repeated what he had said so long ago in the Warren.
He was right.
It was torture—exquisite, raw, strip my soul bare torture.
“I was wrong—you are the villain,” I gasped but it had no heat and he knew it.
He laughed and bent down to kiss me on the forehead before he moved away out of my view. I lay there, slowly coming back to reality, realizing I was lying naked and prone on my kitchen table and finally hauled myself to my feet.
He came out of my bedroom, dressed and ready to leave and he sat down on my couch to put his shoes on. I pulled on my shirtagain and stood in the kitchen, feeling the anxiety hit me at what he was about to go do. He nodded to someone in the hallway and a massive man in black tactical gear came into view. Theron walked over to me and put an arm around my waist, nodding to the man as I looked at him with apprehension.
“This is Viktor. He’s going to be keeping an eye on things while I’m gone. If you need to go anywhere, take him with you—he’ll drive you. There are two other men you’ll see wandering around—I told them all to stay out of your way.”
Viktor looked at me with polite and professional regard and nodded his head.
“Ms. Bennett.”
I swallowed and nodded, feeling intimidated but knowing I’d be safe while he was gone. Viktor disappeared again and Theron turned to me, holding my face in his hands. He kissed me long and hard, imprinting myself on his skin. When he pulled back I couldn’t help but frown.
“Time to go hunting,” he said and with one last kiss he turned and walked towards the door.
“Theron,” I said before he disappeared. He turned and I wondered if those gray eyes would ever stop making me feel breathless. I didn’t know what I wanted to say and ‘be careful’ sounded so silly. “Get in a few hits for me,” I finally said, feeling the thrill that all of this may be over soon. His eyes danced with amusement as he winked and pulled the door closed behind him.
OPERATION RED RABBIT
Why do we compare the heart to love?
It’s violent if you think about it
A bloody piece of me, I give to you
Or you rip it from me
Then it bleeds, it breaks, it skips a beat
I hold the pieces in my hands
and watch the road to redemption run red.

OPERATION RED RABBIT—The words stood out large and imposing as I looked down at the schematics Cal created strew on the camp table. I normally never paid attention to the naming of the operations, but when Cal asked for suggestions, I automatically said ‘Red Rabbit’ and it stuck. It was meaningful for so many reasons. I went over the map for the thousandth time before my mind drifted to Kaelin like it always seemed to do now.
The last six months had been brutal. My memory of the rescue flight was hazy at best but Cal filled in the blanks. He took me to a discrete covert ops hospital because of my sensitive legal status which I was grateful for because the last thing I wanted to happen was to wake up in handcuffs again. There the doctors fought to save my life. I suffered extensive internal damage and the loss of blood was staggering. They put me in a coma to stabilize me and for four months I was dead to the world.
Cal made sure Kaelin got back to civilization okay and then came back and stayed by my side until I woke up. To say he repaid the favor owed was an understatement—I felt like I owed him again but he refused to see it that way. When I woke up, he looked me in the eye and said we have some planning to do.
Apparently he looked into Cooper and the Warren while I was out and didn’t like what he found. He always was more of the justice warrior than any of us so while I was game to destroy the Warren for Kaelin, he was ready to avenge mankind.
