A shudder ripples through him as he smiles at her. “You’re not playing fair—”
“Coffee,” I interrupt with a pointed look at my brother, who has the decency to at least pretend to look thoroughly scolded as he takes her hand and practically drags her to the main cabin where coffee and the first part of our surprise await.

As they lead me out of the room to the main cabins of the plane, I see that all of the windows are covered by the standard little sliding blinds, and set up near one of the comfy little couches is a small table filled with coffee and croissants.
Dolos rushes from my side to stand directly in front of me, all giddy and animated. “But first, you have to close your eyes,” he says softly with a smile on his face as Eris moves to stand beside him, offering me a small nod when my eyes meet his.
I raise a single eyebrow at them.
“It’s a surprise,” Eris says, his features softening.
Lowering my eyelids wordlessly, I wait. I hear the sound of the table being moved slightly, and then one of them takes me byboth hands—Eris, I think, judging solely from the way his touch vibrates through me, the way it sparks just a little sharper. I’m pulled forward a few steps when I ask, “Can I open them?”
“No, no, not yet,” Dolos says with pure enthusiasm in his voice. He helps me sit down and gets me settled in my seat, whispering, “Wait here.”
My other senses consume me. My ears perking at the sound of the small airplane window being opened, my face moving towards the barely-there light, a smile stretching across my face. “Now can I open them?” I ask sweetly, my patience wearing thin, wanting to know what they’re up to.
“Alright…now,” Eris purrs.
I allow my eyelids to slowly open. The lights in the cabin have been turned down, and the men are both watching me with wonder in their eyes, waiting for me to look out the open window. When I finally allow my gaze to travel to the space they’ve set up for me, a loud and emotional gasp escapes me.
Our plane has lowered enough that I can see exactly where we are. Islands of lush greenery and bright pops of color, surrounded by the most beautiful turquoise waters. The sun is rising in front of my eyes, the sky alight with reds, oranges, and bright yellows.
After an undetermined amount of time visually consuming the place that I’ve dreamed of for so long, the place I never thought I’d get to go, I turn to them with tears welling in my eyes.
“You did all of this…for me?” I squeak.
They both smile, each taking one of my hands and leaning in to kiss me on the cheek.
“This is only the beginning, Darling,” Dolos promises.
By the time the plane finishes the laps it was flying around the islands, I’ve finished my coffee and two croissants. We all buckle in as the overhead lights indicate that it’s time to descend. My body is full of the nervous kind of excitement that makes you shiver and cold sweat.
I’ve never had a dream come true.I think to myself, realizing how true it is.
I had never even dared to dream about meeting my brother. I never thought it'd be possible, but mostly, I feared that if I did, I'd be putting him in danger, or worse, find out that he's just like our father.
I also never really allowed myself to dream of finding my mate because I didn’t think I’d ever get to leave Khaos’ pack lands.
Hawaii was the only dream I could actually have. It was something I could try to save up for and someday go on my own adventure. Now here I am, the one dream I had always dreamt of being able to do finally coming true, while the two dreams I couldn't bear myself to ever hope for, becoming a reality.
My body is thrumming with so many feelings—both physical and emotional—as the plane’s wheels meet the pavement of the tarmac. A jolt of lust and something that feels a lot like love bolts through my bloodstream, causing me to wriggle in my seat, knowing now is not the time.
When we’re finally able to disembark the aircraft, even the land around the airport property is stunning. We’re immediately greeted by the sweetest humans. They welcome us warmly, giving each of us a fresh flower lei, one of them going as far as placing a flower in my hair.
As we move towards the awaiting car, the flower begins to fall from my hair, but Eris catches it, gingerly tucking it into my still French-braided hair so that it doesn’t fall again. I smile at him with all the feelings coursing through me and reach onto my toes to kiss him.
He answers my call without a second thought, wrapping one arm around me, and pulling me tight against him. It was supposed to be a sweet, quick kiss, but it would seem I’m not the only one feeling all the things.
I open for him, and our tongues tangle together, trying to tell each other how we feel without using the words that Eris seems to avoid at all costs.
Dolos makes a sound somewhere between a break-it-up cough and a chuckle.
We stop, freezing in place, my cheeks heating with a blush I know even the Goddess herself can see. Eris leans in to kiss my forehead before resting his against mine. “There’s more,” he grumbles, reminding me that these two are standing here making my only real dream come true. I nod against him, and we move to get in the car together.
We’ve barely been in the car for ten minutes before our vehicle turns into a long and winding driveway that takes us up a decent-sized hill.
